DREAM A LITTLE DREAM by Deb Kastner

Ringing in the New Year was a little different for most of us what with the pandemic still hovering over us. Well, not really that much different for my hubby Joe and me. We’re homebodies anyway, so when we heard the next-door neighbors popping off fireworks at midnight, we simply offered each other a simple, quiet, “Happy New Year, honey!”

I also didn’t make any resolutions because with my husband’s health problems we don’t know where we’ll be from day to day. I have made business plans for my writing but nothing personal. I already know I’m supposed to eat healthy and walk on the treadmill.

But while resolutions have taken a back seat, I still feel we should embrace our dreams, especially now when everything in our lives appears topsy-turvy.

Last year I achieved a lifelong dream. I have loved horses since I met my first live horse at my grandfather’s house when I was four years old. I was certain the first thing I would do when I grew up was get a horse, but you know…#life and #adulting. But now, fifty years later, I’ve finally adopted a sweet horse named Moscato from my sister’s animal rescue, Happy Haven Farm and Sanctuary. I can’t explain how wonderful it feels to interact with Moscato. So precious!

In my current book release, Opening Her Heart (Rocky Mountain Family #2), my heroine Avery Winslow is trying to fulfill her dream to open a bed and breakfast for clients of the family’s service dog program. But Jake Cutter’s company has their own designs on the land, and she has the fight of her life ahead of her to achieve her aspirations.

What about you? Do you have dreams you’d like to bring to fruition in 2021? Two commenters will win a copy of Opening Her Heart or any of my backlist.

Besides love? More book clubs! When I first came up with my idea for THE BEST LIFE BOOK CLUB, I thought I was being so original, so clever. A book about a book club – yes! And then, after I’d surfaced from my writing cave back into the sunlight, I blinked and saw… all kinds… Read More
