by Thea Devine It probably won’t come as a surprise to anyone that Gone With The Wind is among my favorite books. I first read it when I was sixteen, and you can probably guess my teenaged reaction to the love story. But, as I subsequently discovered, it’s wholly different book when you reread it… Read More
She’s the author whose books defined erotic historical romance. Romantic Times calls her “The Queen of Erotic Romance,” Affaire de Coeur: “… the divine mistress of sensual writing …”
She’s Thea Devine (yes, it’s her real name), and she’s the author of 18 steamy historical romances (with three more to come), as well as contributing novellas to Kensington Books’ USA Today best-selling erotic historical romance anthologies, CAPTIVATED, FASCINATED, and TAKEN BY SURPRISE. She’s also written a handful of sexy contemporary romantic novellas for Kensington and Leisure Books, and she made her debut in full-length contemporary romance in 1999 with NIGHT MOVES, for Harlequin Temptation “Blaze”.
She lives and works in Connecticut (and summers in Maine), but more to the point, she really lives that secret life readers sometimes think she does: for the past twenty years, she’s also been a professional manuscript reader.
She was married to John and after 50 years of love and companionship, her husband passed away in December 2016, and has two grown sons, Michael and Thomas; and two sister felines, Charlotte and Emily Bronte Cat; and two dogs: mini-doxie Midgie, who recently joined the family; and the headstrong, stubborn and wilful black lab, Maggie, who has, Thea says, all the qualities of a good heroine.
An Inside Out Novella in Mark’s POV Available now! While Chris and Sara have traveled to Paris to avoid the chaos of press and police after the tragic night we’d shared, I have stayed to face the reality of what has happened. But there is no peace to be found in facing the truth, and… Read More

Why do I write in so many different and varying categories? I’ve been told by more than one party that I should pick a genre and stick to it. “You have to create a brand.” “It’s too confusing for your readers if you write in more than one genre.” That’s what they tell me. I… Read More

As the new television season is about to kick off in the next few weeks, I flipped through my DVR list of preset series recordings and decided it was time to cull the herd. I’ll admit I don’t watch a lot of live TV—which means I’m usually hopelessly out of the loop about current events… Read More

Rise of the Firestarter: What Makes a Hero?
The romance and superhero genres have one major element in common: they’re about hope. That means Alec Farley, the star of my first superhero romance, Rise of the Firestarter, had to be heroic as a romance hero and as a “super” hero. Since this is the first book in my Phoenix Institute series, Alec also… Read More
