Series I’ve Loved- the Harlequin Sale

By Joanne Rock

heartachecoversI’ve been feeling nostalgic this week as Harlequin has been prepping for their biggest sale ever. In case you haven’t heard, all Harlequin series backlist titles (releases prior to July 2017) are available at all the major digital vendors for $1.99 now through October 25th.  That means books from all of Harlequin’s seventeen series (Desire, Superromance, Blaze, Intrigue, etc.) are available for $1.99 at Amazon, Kobo, Nook, Apple, Google, etc.

The promotion means over eighteen thousand books are on sale. That’s exciting for a reader, and a little daunting, too! Where do you begin? Well, believe me, I’ve been thinking about it. I’ll give you some hints in a minute.

But first, let me backpedal to say that I’ve been enjoying reading classic stories thanks to Book Bub sales this year. If you’re not signed up for Book Bub, where you can get a tailored list of genre books specific to your tastes that are free, 1.99 or 2.99, go sign up now. It’s easy to do and you’ll be downloading a free book every

grayweek. Why not have some extra on your phone for those downtime moments when you’re stuck waiting at the doctor’s office or in a long line at the post office? No need to own a Kindle… any smart phone has an app that makes it easy to read digital books. And the beauty of this? You always have your phone. If you sign up, by the way, please do follow me on Book Bub so you can see when my books are on sale!

Through my Book Bub addiction, I’ve downloaded some books that I read in the past an adored. Recently, I revisited Virginia Kantra’s The Passion of Patrick McNeil and fell in love all over again. The book made me cry and swoon as much on the second read as it did the first time, over a decade ago. Same thing with Susan Elizabeth Phillips’ Dream a Little Dream. Oh, how I loved revisiting Gabe at his doomed drive in and reading about those heartbroken characters who still have such a sharp wit even when the world kicks them. Loved it.

So I’m really primed to take a walk down memory lane on those Harlequin series shelves this week to remember books that I loved! I don’t save everything I read, uwso it’s not like I can go to a bookshelf and pull out a print copy. Why not download some of my best love favorites like Alison Kent’s awesome gIRL gEAR series in Blaze? Striptease, in particular, won the RT Reviewer’s Choice Award and is just fabulous. Rhonda Nelson’s Men out of Uniform is another must-read in Blaze.

If you like suspense and military guys, my friend Catherine Mann’s Wingmen Warriors is a series everyone was talking about when it came out.  More recently, I loved Olivia Gates Billionaires of Black Castle. If you happen to enjoy a Joanne Rock book (how could I resist sharing a fav?) you can always see all my backlist on my website. Just click the series button to organize the books according to series. If you like single title contemporaries, I’d be most grateful if you’d give my Heartache, TN series a try.

But you probably have some series you’ve loved, too! Tell me about them in the comments this week and I’ll send one reader their choice of print or download UNDER WRAPS- my holiday Blaze- to start your holiday reading early this year!
