My Top Five TV/Movie Kisses

Giveaway: $10.00 Amazon Gift Card

We all wait for that moment. The two characters eyes meet, wordless communication is exchanged. One cups the other’s face as both lean in and lips meet. Cue the sighs. Below is my personal Top 5 TV/Movie Kisses, but before that, let me share Tabby and Eli’s first kiss from His Reason to Stay.

“Things don’t have to be awkward between us,” he whispered.

She couldn’t have stopped the kiss, nor did she want to. She might not lean on him, might try to keep her secret hidden for as long as he was here, but that didn’t mean she didn’t crave to feel him again. Wrap herself up in his body and the tender way he’d brought her to peaks with skilled fingers and tongue. Tabby slid her hands up into hair that brushed the collar of his shirt. He angled his head and swept her mouth with such authority that her knees shook with the intensity. Eli knew her. Knew her body, knew her soul, her secrets, her fantasies. Well, except for one. When you had that much connection, it roared through you on a freight train of passion.

  1. Logan and Veronica. Veronica Mars

Some kisses are sweet, some are not, and some are downright surprising. The kiss between Logan and Veronica slapped me upside the head. I hadn’t seen it coming, and then I was so on board for these two that I could not stop replaying it.

  1. Fanny and Edmund. Mansfield Park (1999)

Long before I fell in love with Jonny Lee Miller as Sherlock, I loved him as Edmund in Jane Austen’s Mansfield Park. Fanny and Edmund are a lovely example of friends to lovers and oh, that almost kiss before Edmund finally comes to his senses.

  1. Esther and John. Meet Me in St. Louis

It’s no secret that I love old musicals and Meet Me in St. Louis is one of my favorite. I love the initiative Judy Garland as Esther takes in this movie. She wants John Truett and she’s not afraid to engineer as many chances to be around him as she can, but it’s only after she essentially wails on him for harming her sister (which he didn’t do) that John finally takes charge.  Cue big sigh.

Oh and one of my all-time favorite scenes is in this movie, where a forlorn Esther is waltzing with her grandfather at the Christmas party after John leaves her high and dry because of a tux incident. What happens next? You will just have to watch the movie.

  1. Luke and Lorelai. Gilmore Girls

I struggled over whether this was my number 1 or not. But ultimately it succumbed to two. Luke and Lorelai were the epitome of will they, or won’t they and when they finally did, it was so quintessential Stars Hollow, complete with Lorelei talking through the moment and a naked Kirk interrupting a second later.

  1. Jaime and Claire. Outlander

Mo nighean donn. Need I say more. I had a hard time choosing an image. I mean any kiss between them makes me swoon and sigh and want to book a trip to Scotland. I waited for twenty years for these characters to come to life on any screen, and when they did, I was mesmerized. Every glance, touch, and yes kiss, between them is electric.

Thank you for having me here today and sharing in my list of favorite kisses. I would love to know what your favorite lip-smacking moment is, either on screen or on the page. Happy Reading.
