One Texas Night
by Sylvie Kurtz

A storm of memories...

In the midst of a Texas thunder storm, Melinda Amery witnesses her neighbor's murder and relives a painful past. She wakes up in a jail cell, her memory fractured, facing Lt. Grady Sloan's piercing gaze and probing questions. She won't take a trip down memory lane--not for anyone. She's worked too hard to earn her quiet life. All she wants is the peace of her garden and the routine of her catalog business. But there's nowhere to hide from the determined lieutenant or the threat hovering just out of reach. Not when someone wants to keep Melinda's past in the dark.

An awakening of the heart...

Grady can't afford to make another mistake, not if he wants to get the promotion to Fargate's chief of police. With the town council breathing down his nect for an arrest before the tourists flock to the Fall Festival, he must force Melinda to remember what she needs to forget. And in her garden, where she buries all her fears, he discovers how love can bloom.

Sylvie Kurtz's Bio

Flying an eight hour solo cross-country in a Piper Arrow with only the airplane's crackling radio and a large bag of M & Ms for company, Sylvie Kurtz realized a pilot's life wasn't for her. The stories zooming in and out of her head proved more entertaining than the flight itself. Not a quitter, she finished her pilot's course, earning her commercial license and instrument rating.

Since then, she's traded in her pilot's license for a keyboard, where she lets her imagination soar to create fictional adventures that explore the power of love and the thrill of suspense.

When not writing, she enjoys the outdoors with her family, quilt-making, photography, and reading whatever catches her interest.
