Mistress by Mistake
by Susan Gee Heino

England, 1816.

Viscount Randolph Dashford isn—t a bad person; he—s simply pretending to be one to avoid matrimony.

Heiress Evaline Pinchley isn—t usually a sotted wanton; she—s merely celebrating her birthday.

One full moon and one empty Madeira bottle later, Evaline wakes to find herself in Dashford's bed!

While Evaline tries to salvage what dignity she can from this colossal blunder, family secrets and would-be fiancés run rampant around her. Just when it seems she might find a way out of the mess she's made, Evaline realizes things are worse than imagined.

She's lost her heart to Dashford, and that could be the biggest mistake of them all.

Susan Gee Heino's Bio

Susan always dreamed of being a writer. Something about creating worlds and characters on paper has always fascinated her. She began her career at age four, penning such well-loved classics as MY DOG HAS FUZZY EARS and THE WORM FAMILY GOES TO CHURCH . Well, they were loved by her mother. As she (and her vocabulary) grew, she realized she'd best have some other career options to fall back on. So, she went off to college and studied Fine Art. And History. And Poetry. And other Useful Things. She woke up one day six short years later with a degree in Theatre.

After several years in playwriting (and poverty) she woke up to find herself a stay-home mom with an uncommonly supportive husband. She turned her focus back onto her first love—writing Historical Romance. Today her life is spent in flowing muslin gowns, cavorting with dashing Regency rakes, and frolicking through the drawing rooms of luxurious country estates. At least, that's where her mind is. And it's a happy place so she'd love to have you join her there.

In 2008 she won the RWA Golden Heart® Award in the Regency Historical category. MISTRESS BY MISTAKE will be released December 1, 2009, from Berkley Publishing. This is the sixth full-length manuscript she has written. (Those first five books are safely tucked in a drawer.) Her latest endeavor is another Regency Historical and it will be released in 2010.

As for long-term goals, she'd really just like to catch up on family scrapbooks, catch up on weeding the garden, catch up on laundry, catch up on sleep, and catch her children occasionally cleaning their rooms without being told. In the meanwhile, she'll settle for writing all the Happily-Ever-Afters she can.
