The Thief of Murdu
by Marie Harte

Professional thief Isa Araye has a bad feeling about her current job, and the dead body she trips over near the safe proves something is terribly wrong. Catam of Mardu, a successful bounty hunter, is bored with his life, restless for reasons he cannot explain. So when his peacemaker brother needs his help, he readily agrees. How hard can it be to track down a murdering thief hiding on his own homeworld? But things are not as they seem, and Catam's boredom turns into something else entirely as he and Isa set out to prove her innocence.

Marie Harte's Bio

I've been writing as far back as I can remember. Interest in the written word, no doubt spawned by my English teacher father, continues to this day. I'm a voracious reader, gobbling everything from romance to horror to science fiction and more. And I'm in love with the art of putting pen to paper...so to speak.

I majored in English from Penn State University, earning a B.A. in Liberal Arts, as well as a commission in the Unites States Marine Corps. Five years later, after serving as a communications officer, I left the service to focus more on family.

An assortment of jobs, from the Marine Corps Reserve, to a government-contracted agency as an IT Representative, to a middle manager for a Fortune 500 transportation company, have filled my days until I decided to devote myself full-time to my family.

Now the mother of four, I spend my time watching after my children and searching for that spare hour to write. Needless to say, I spend many of my nights typing away long into the a.m.

I've received several awards to include: the 2005 Passionate Plume for Scifi/fantasy romance, the 2006 Amber Quill Heat Wave contest winner, 1st Place in Steamy Erotic romance for the 2006 Lories, finalist in the 2007 Linda Howard Award of Excellence, and finalist in the 2008 Reveal Your Inner Vixen MRWA contest.

New Concepts Publishing published my first work in December 2004, entitled Blackthorne's Light. Since then, I have published over two dozen works with Amber Quill, Loose Id, Samhain, Whispers, and Total E-Bound. I've been fortunate enough to be a consistent Fictionwise bestseller. My most recent title, Circe's Recruits: Derrick, was released in March 2009 from Loose Id.
