The First Family of Texas
by K. N. Casper

THE MAN AND HIS FAMILY
Adam First and his family have been running the Number One Ranch in West Texas for generations. But now his daughter, driven by spite and revenge, has sold controlling interest to the local bank.

THE WOMAN WITH THEIR FATE IN HER HANDS
Sheila Malone, a consultant for the bank, has to determine if Adam is managing the ranch properly and whether he should continue to oversee its operations.

THE CHOICES THEY HAVE TO MAKE
Adam can stay on--but only if he agrees to Sheila's recommendations. That's asking a lot. Adam is as inflexible as Sheila is strong-willed. And the heat between them isn't just from their disagreements about the destiny of the ranch.

K. N. Casper's Bio

Ken Casper, aka K. N. Casper, figures his writing career started in the sixth grade when he was ordered by a teacher to write a "theme" explaining his misbehavior over the previous semester. To his teacher's chagrin, he enjoyed stringing just the right words together to justify his less than stellar performance. Fortunately, she forgave him.

Born and raised in New York City, Ken is now a transplanted Texan. He and Mary, his wife of 27 years, own a horse farm in San Angelo. Along with their border collie, Chief, they have a golden retriever, Casey, two house cats, four barn cats and eight horses. They also board and breed horses and Mary teaches English riding. She's a therapeutic riding instructor for the handicapped, as well.

Life is never dull at Little Oaks Farm. Their two granddaughters visit several times a year and feel right at home with the Casper menagerie. Grampa and Mimi do everything they can to make sure their visits to West Texas will be lifelong fond memories. After all, isn't that what grandparents are for?
