Man of the Month Club
by Jackie Clune

A tart, funny, original novel about a would be single mom's quest to find the right man at the right time, with unexpected—and entertaining—consequences.

Amy Stokes has made a fortune designing and selling cutesy luxury baby products for her own fancy London boutique. But, ironically, she has never liked babies. Amy would rather stay out late with her friends, and spend her money living the fabulous life—designer clothes, a BMW convertible, a chic modernist apartment with roof garden.

However, at thirty-nine, a few unplanned events turn Amy's life inside out. She finds a baby abandoned on the doorstep of her store, accidentally runs over her dog, and a couple of her closest friends become pregnant. Suddenly, after years of utter silence, her biological clock starts ticking—and loudly. In a rush of optimism, Amy decides she wants to try for a baby, and she goes after her goal with the same entrepreneurial can-do spirit that's always worked in the past. But since she doesn't have a husband, or even a boyfriend, she must find an acceptable guy to knock her up.

Amy gives herself twelve months to accomplish her goal, which leads to a merry-go-round of potential winners and losers she dubs "the man of the month club." Yet she discovers that choosing a father for her child is entirely different from creating a business plan. And just when it looks like she might have found the perfect man, fate throws another curveball her way.
