Donna Ball's Bio

Donna Ball, also known as Donna Boyd, Rebecca Flanders, Donna Carlyle, Leigh Bristol and Taylor Brady, published her first book in 1982. Since then she has written over fifty books for such publishers as Doubleday, St. Martin's Press, Warner, Dutton/Signet, Zebra, Pinnacle, Harlequin/Silhouette and Avon Books.

She is known for her work in women's fiction and suspense, as well as supernatural fantasy, woman-in-jeopardy and western adventure. Her books have been translated into well over a dozen languages and have appeared in virtually every country in the world.

Her first book, WINNERS (St. Martin's Press), was serialized in Good Housekeeping magazine. She has given numerous print and broadcast interviews and has been quoted by such publications as the Detroit Free Press, the Atlanta Journal and Constitution, T.V. Guide, and Family Circle, as well as having appeared on such television programs as Entertainment Tonight and Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.

Donna Ball's ancestors were one of the first pioneer families of North Georgia, and her family still lives on the land they purchased from the Cherokee in 1782. Ball lives in a restored turn-of-the-century barn in the heart of the Blue Ridge Divide. She serves on the executive boards of several community service groups, and in her spare time writes, edits and publishes newsletters for Friends of the Library and local animal rescue groups. Hobbies include oil painting, hiking and dog obedience training.
