David Ellis' Bio

Dave is an attorney from Chicago who has worked in both the public and private sector since his graduation from Northwestern Law School. He currently serves as Counsel to the Speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives. In this capacity, Dave reviews legislation before the House, serves as the House Parliamentarian during floor proceedings, and acts as the House Ethics Officer.

LINE OF VISION, Dave's first novel, won the Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best First Novel by an American Author. Since then, he has published LIFE SENTENCE, JURY OF ONE, and IN THE COMPANY OF LIARS. Dave's new novel, EYE OF THE BEHOLDER, will be released in July, 2007.

Dave's novels have been translated into Italian, Japanese, German, Dutch, Polish, Czech, Bulgarian, and Spanish.

Dave currently lives in the state capital, Springfield, Illinois, with his wife Susan, his daughter Abigail, and their two pugs, Otis and Molly.
