For This Week I Thee Wed
by Cheryl St. John

I, Francie Karr-Taylor, take thee, Ryan MacNair, in marriage to convince my grandmother and tenth-reunion class that I'm happily married - you provide the kids.   A week should do it. You should pledge to be so irresistible that you charm the control tops right off those small-town busybodies.  Your touches should be possessive and your kisses so hot that we won't need to feign our intense reactions. Oh, and promise we won't want this fake family to become real...

Cheryl St. John's Bio

Cheryl St. John's first book, RAIN SHADOW, was nominated for the Romantic Times' Reviewers Choice award for Best Western Historical; Affaire de Coeur's Best American Historical Romance; and for the Romance Writers of America's RITA Award for Best First Book. In 1994 Affaire de Coeur readers nominated her as one of the Top Ten Favorite Authors and for Best Up and Coming Author, 1995.

Since then her stories continue to receive high acclaim from readers and reviewers, with Land of Dreams selling well over 1,000,000 copies and being nominated for Romantic Times Magazine's Reviewer's Choice Award for Best Western Historical Romance. It was reissued this summer as part of the Babies & Bachelors direct series.

Her books have been printed in a dozen languages and enjoyed by readers all over the world. Her 2000 release BIG SKY BRIDES containing her novella "Isabelle" made the USA Today list and the New York Times list.

She has been program director, vice president, and president of Romance Authors of the Heartland, her local RWA chapter, has served as advisor to the Board, Published Authors Network Liaison, and conference workshop chair.

Cheryl is the two-time recipient of RAH's Shining Heart Award, awarded to the person who has given the most in service to the chapter.

Cheryl claims she needs deadline pressure to inspire her to write diligently. The best thing about her writing career is the ability to schedule time for family and church around her work, instead of the other way around.
