Good morning, friends!

Are the leaves turning where you live yet? Michigan is absolutely amazing right now. The brilliant shades of crimson, gold and orange make me want to go for a long drive. The deep autumn colors have a euphoric effect on me. I think about how incredibly awesome our Creator is! Fall is my absolute favorite season. How about you?

My family drove all the way from Texas last week to see me AND the leaves. I'm so glad the leaves were already turning here. Then they drove over to the east coast to make their way down, again, hoping to see autumn in all its glory! I hear everywhere was green except Michigan. Maybe it's too soon, but once they start turning, they won't last long.

That's a long road trip from Texas to Michigan and I stopped working on a looming deadline to spend time with them because nothing is more important than family. Wouldn't you agree?

We live about an hour from Lake Michigan so they had to dip their toes in the lake. You know—Great Lakes. Shark free. Salt free. [photo]

My sister-in-law took this picture of my husband and son and commented on Facebook that "In the background, is a lighthouse . . . what a perfect symbol of God's guiding light through our storms." Some of you might know that we've been through a lot of storms with our special needs son (and many of you can relate!). I shared this to encourage you!!! God is good, so good, and I'm so grateful for the time I had with my family. I'm grateful that my SIL captured this moment in time so I could come back to it again.

Please don't forget to take time to spend with loved-ones.

I admit my writing world does take up a huge part of my time, and before I know it, life is passing me by. I don't measure my time in days or months or birthdays or holidays, but in deadlines.

The good news is that more deadlines means more books for you.

In my last newsletter I mentioned my upcoming January title, Distress Signal, and that I would share the cover. (actually this is the book jacket but it gives you back cover copy too! Ta Da!

Distress Signal is book three in Coldwater Bay Intrigue, and releases in January. It comes after Thread of Revenge (book 1) and Stormy Haven (book 2).

Behind the scenes in my writing world, I'm finishing up book two in the Uncommon Justice series. The manuscript is due in two weeks. I'm editing Running Target, book 4, in the Coldwater Bay Intrigue series, and next I'll be starting on a whole new Love Inspired Suspense series, working title Shasta Secrets.

I'm super excited about the upcoming release (February 2019) of my very first trade-length novel, Never Let Go. In the past months I've shared with you about this story. I took a research trip to Wyoming last summer and visited the Jackson Hole area as well as Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks.

Setting inspires me like nothing else.

I can't wait for you to get to know Willow and Austin, and fall in love with Wyoming like I did! I'll be sharing more in the next newsletters as we approach the February release of Never Let Go!

Oh, and some fun news. I'll be sharing about some of my favorite romantic suspense authors in future emails as well, so that's a great opportunity for you to find new authors.

Thank you so much for joining me!

Happy Reading.
