Why We Love Damaged Heroes

Is it just me, or does Henry remind you of certain Dom?

Is it just me, or does Henry remind you of certain Dom?

There’s something about a sexy hero with a conflicted past and a bad-boy attitude that makes us want to love him all the more. In real life, we often find we can’t change a man. But in an erotic romance novel, love conquers all. The hero changes for the better thanks to the heroine and her love.

If only real life were like that too!

I admit, I’ve fallen in love with the most damaged, broken BAD Boy of all… Roman. It’s strange, I know. He’s the sadistic one. The cold one, the man who wouldn’t know how to commit to a woman even if he was handcuffed to her.

When Roman takes Elisabeth from Trevor to train her in Enslaved, Book 1 in the Enslaved Trilogy, and falls in love with her…well, all I can say is that when it comes to love triangles, they have sharp edges. Someone’s bound to get hurt.

Enraptured by Shoshanna EversEven during Enamored, Marc and Mistress Lauren’s story, Roman was on my mind, creeping into the pages like a demon from my past. I couldn’t wait to share his story in Enraptured, Book 3 of the Enslaved Trilogy. Finally, finally I had my chance to explore the inner workings of the baddest of the BAD Boys. But would Roman ever be able to let Elisabeth go so he could move forward and find his own happy ever after?

Enraptured, Book Three in the Enslaved Trilogy, from Simon & Schuster’s Pocket Star imprint, is available now at AmazonBarnes & Noble, Koboand iTunes.

The stunning conclusion to the red-hot Enslaved erotica trilogy finds a curious young beauty baring more than her skin…

Lovely, blonde, and young, Jessica accepted a job at New York’s most exclusive BDSM nightclub to make ends meet…and to satisfy her curiosity. Nobody is more intriguing than the BAD boys—Billionaire Arrogant Doms—a trio of unbelievably rich and sexy men. Jessica willingly gets involved with the group, shedding her formerly shy persona to explore the limits of her own desire. But she isn’t sure how vulnerable she wants to be…until the one BAD Boy who never wants to fall in love again—the gorgeous, passionate, and unexpectedly tender Roman—takes an interest in her, and Jessica finds herself drawn deeper into his world than she ever expected.

I’ve got an excerpt for you, but it’s way too X-rated for this blog. I’ll just link to it here.

So….tell me….do you have a favorite “damaged hero?”

  1. Oh, yes, I like to write damaged heroes. They’re so fun to write, and the readers want to root for them to fall in love.

Creatures to Torture with Romance

My most recent series of books is Brimstone Inc. Loosely set in the dragon shifter world of my Fire’s Edge and Inferno Rising series, these novellas give me the chance to show other paranormal creatures within the world, most of whom only get a fly by mention in the dragon shifter books. But I could… Read More
