Tour Bus Fun

Traveling the country in a tour bus, listening to fabulous music, and living the celebrity dream sounds pretty awesome to me. In THE NANNY ARRANGEMENT, I got to live out that fantasy vicariously through my characters as Deacon’s world-famous country band, Blue, traveled the country, and his best friend/band nanny joined along for the ride. It got me thinking…if I could travel the U.S. via tour bus with a band, which band would I choose?

It’s an interesting question. Do you go with the band whose music you love to jam out to, or the band whose personality most closely reflects your own? Living in tight quarters can lead to interesting predicaments, as Deacon and Hannah soon discover in the book, though for them it was added fun considering the sparks they ignited.

A younger me would’ve chosen an effervescent artist on top of the world, like Taylor Swift, or even a celeb crush like Justin Timberlake if I were single (*grin*), but older, wiser, happily-married, and down-time loving Rachel would prefer a calmer setting, where the music is incredible and the company is just as welcoming.

If I were given the opportunity to travel on a tour bus around the country with any band of my choosing, I think I’d choose Lady Antebellum. First, I love their music. Hillary Scott’s voice is angelic, almost like a lullaby at times, and from the interviews I’ve seen, I’m almost certain we could be besties. As for guys, between Charles Kelley’s fun-loving personality and Dave Haywood’s antics, I’m sure I’d have a blast. Their concerts are fun, the music is great, and they have a rather awesome habit of choosing amazing artists to tour with—the concert I saw in person had Sam Hunt and Hunter Hayes along for the ride! Yeah, that sounds like a pretty incredible time if you ask me.

Now it’s your turn—what band would YOU choose to tour the country with and why?  I’d love to hear about it in the comments!!

Entangled Bliss

Soft-spoken and shy Hannah Fisher is determined to make the man she’s loved her entire life finally see her as a woman. With the help of a makeover, a new mission—Operation Find My Happy—and the convenient forced proximity of a tour bus, she vows to win her best friend Deacon’s heart.

Former bad boy and current fiddle player Deacon Latrell has the world at his fingertips: a new gig with a famous band, plus his best friend on tour as his son’s nanny. Life couldn’t get much sweeter. Now if only he could stop imagining kissing the daylights out of his childhood BFF…

With one friend set on pushing the boundaries and the other afraid to rock the boat, one thing’s for certain—their story would make one heck of a country song.
