Multiplicity and Milestones

by Linda O. Johnston Writing in multiple genres. I’ve blogged about that here before, and now it’s on my mind again enough for me to create another blog post about it. Why? Because I’ll be attending the Romance Writers of America Conference in Denver later this month. The focus there? I’m sure you know: romance…. Read More

Seven absolutely criminal mystery conventions

I’m back from a very-fun-and-very-exhausting Left Coast Crime mystery con in Sparks, Nevada. Although I’ve attended lots of mystery cons as a reader and fan, this was my first time as a published author. So now I get to introduce myself as “Mystery Author, Reader, and Fan.” WHOO-HOO! Left Coast Crime had something for everyone…a… Read More

Ana Brazil

A native of California, Ana Brazil lived in the south for many years. She earned her MA in American history from Florida State University and traveled her way through Mississippi as an architectural historian. Ana loves fried mullet, Greek Revival colonnades, and Miss Welty’s garden. She has a weakness for almost all things New Orleans. (Although she’s not sure just how it happened…but she favors bluegrass over jazz.) The Fanny Newcomb stories celebrate the tenacity, intelligence, and wisdom of the dozens of courageous and outrageous southern women that Ana is proud to call friends. Although Ana, her husband, and their dog Traveller live in the beautiful Oakland foothills, she is forever drawn to the lush mystique of New Orleans, where Fanny Newcomb and her friends are ever prepared to seek a certain justice.
An Interesting May

by Linda O. Johnston I’m delighted that it’s May. Or at least I was. This month, my third Barkery & Biscuits Mystery BAD TO THE BONE was published. As I’d mentioned in earlier blogs, I’ve been doing all kinds of things to let people know about it, including participating on a panel at Malice Domestic… Read More

And Now It’s A New Year

by Linda O. Johnston Last month I blogged about the end of 2016, so it feels only natural to blog today about the beginning of 2017. If you read my blog last month you’ll know that I anticipate the publication of two new books, in different genres, this year: BAD TO THE BONE, the third… Read More

New Beginnings

We’re almost three weeks into the new year. Christmas seems like it was so long ago—the baking, decorating, and shopping nothing but a dream. Many resolutions—made with the best of intention—have fallen to the wayside. But that doesn’t change the fact that January is traditionally a time for new beginnings. Even if you haven’t kept… Read More
