Royal Brides and Royal Babies…

hYou gotta love ’em.

They’re calling Princess Katherine’s baby the $380 million baby bump because the upcoming birth of the heir to the throne is predicted by economists to generate at least that much revenue in the UK alone.  Harlequin Presents readers aren’t going to be surprised.  They’ve loved royals in their romance for years.

Modern day royalty is still the stuff of fantasy and makes for very good romance.  When I was asked to write SCORSOLINI BABY SCANDAL for the Royal Baby Collection (Harlequin Special Releases eBooks), I had already finished ONE NIGHT HEIR, the first book in my By His Royal Decree duo out this month and next.  I love writing royalty.

scorsolinibabyscandalEven more fun is creating a country with a background I know readers are going to enjoy.  There are a lot of Russian heroes out there.  Ukrainian?  Not so much.  I’ve done a few of Ukrainian descent for my TGP series from Brava, but none for Harlequin.  However, I wanted to.  Very much.

Then the idea of creating a fictitious country that had splintered off from Ukraine before Russian annexation came to me.  Volyarus is small, but thriving and still very much a monarchy, even in this modern age.  Have I had a wonderful time with it!

Not only are the stories my favorite kind (über emotional and intensely sensual), but the heroes are yummy, if I do say so myself.  Maybe it’s because each hero I write has a little bit of my husband in them, but I fall in love with every new book.  Crown Prince Maksim is no exception.

He shares my gorgeous hubby’s stubbornness and sense of honor, but also his occasional emotional blindness.  It makes for a very interesting time between the prince and Gillian, the woman he loves.  The question is: does he love her enough?  Is it even possible for a man like him to put his woman above duty?

Read ONE NIGHT HEIR and find out.

Hugs and happy reading!

Only a royal wedding…

Bitter life lessons have taught Crown Prince Maksim Yurkovich that duty must come before desire. His country needs an heir, so when he discovers his lover can’t have children, he must sever their ties. Only Maks can’t resist spending one last night in her bed.

…can avert this royal scandal!

Now he faces the biggest diplomatic crisis of his life. Against all odds, Gillian Harris has become pregnant. Maks’s royal reserve masks the heart of a fierce Cossack warrior—one who is not above using their mutual passion to convince a hurt, wary Gillian that she must be his queen!
