I received this email from a reader recently:
“I don’t want the e books. I want the real books of Lyn Cote. I have trouble finding them…”
So of course, my next question is–which do you prefer reading print or ebooks? And why? The second part is the most important–important to me as an author.
BECAUSE I WANT TO GIVE MY READERS WHAT THEY WANT! REALLY.
Have you ever wondered why print books seem harder to find?
That’s the topic for another blog-I have a lot to share with you about why print books are getting harder to find. A lot has been happening in the book industry in the last decade or more. I’ll discuss that in my blog here in November. If you haven’t subscribed to my newsletter, why not? Click here to enter my monthly contest and be subscribed to my newsletter. Also I do have a book that you can buy on Amazon.com in either print (LARGE PRINT EVEN) or ebook, UNEXPECTED DESTINATIONS. 99 CENTS for a limited time! Click here for more info.
Two novellas~two unlikely couples and two unexpected destinations-
For Sophia’s Heart and For Sophia’s Daughter
i love the paperback books the reason is i’m not to good learning all of this new tech stuff . I grew up with paperback books to me knowing that i have a book in my hands that the author personal wrote is awesome. And besides if you had a kindle and you had a issues with it you would loose everything that you had on it. But with a paperback book you would be able to read it as much as you wanted to.
I only read e-books now. I don’t want the hassle of storing print copies. I have hundreds of print copies I have to donate still and they take up a lot of room, to say nothing of the weight and hassle when/if we move.
E-books are better for the environment also because we aren’t using trees to create thousands and thousands of print books per title that is published. Obviously this is just my opinion, but it’s how I feel.
Happy Tuesday! I only read print books currently. The cost at times can be staggering but ebooks are not legally protected sufficiently and it always seems as if the issuer retains control over the ebook in someway. I worked for a long time in the legal industry and am uncomfortable with this grey area of ownership, exposure of copyrighted material and the way in which too many ghost books are vended. So if no print book then unfortunately I will not make a purchase. Have a blessed day! ❤️📚❤️🍫❤️✉️🌺🌸🍧🌈💐🍱💌🍜🎊🐗
I prefer the real thing. Being able to turn real pages. But an e-reader is great for travel because I no longer have to use a third of my baggage weight allowance for books.
I can read either, but definitely prefer print books because its easier on my eyes and I can take it wherever I go. I find that I rarely read ebooks though there are books on my iPad that I really want to read. Also, I can share my print books with my friends and when they’re returned, I can place them in a Little Free Library.
I definitely prefer print…there’s nothing like holding the book in your hand when reading it. I’ve recently started trying ebooks and I guess the draw for that is freebies and discounted prices…plus availability especially when you live in a smaller town with limited access to bookstores.
Thanks for all the feedback. It seems that everyone has different reasons for which they prefer and why. Next month I’m going to talk about what is driving print books from shelves in stores and I hope help readers understand why authros are shifting toward ebooks.
