OKAY, SO FALL’S ALMOST HERE, NOW WHAT?

fall-leavesI’ve always loved fall. It’s my favorite season, hands down.

I adore the cooler temperatures, the brisk nights, the cute sweaters.

To me, fall heralds new beginnings, like back to school and better television.  It’s also a reminder that the holiday season, which includes my birthday, is just around the corner.

That’s always equaled a lot of fun and exciting times.

Did I mention presents?

This year, however, the fact that fall is just around the corner feels a little anticlimactic. Maybe because the heat hasn’t been too bad, at least not here in Oklahoma. Last year we had something

birthday-gifts

like 45 or more days in a row where temperatures exceeded 100 degrees.

We’ve reached 100 degrees maybe three times this year. And each time the mercury barely gave those three digits a love tap before shrinking back down.

I’ve liked this summer a lot better.

So, I’m finding it hard to get excited about fall. And not just because I don’t need to be saved from heat exhaustion.  The truth is far more serious and disturbing: I haven’t seen the trailer for one, single new television series that interests me.  Not even a little.

Sigh.

Oh well, maybe that means I’ll actually get a few things accomplished in the evenings.

tv_techtalk_OFMPity you couldn’t hear the strange snorting sound I just made!

I usually enjoy fall as a cool respite to a hot August, but summer has been kind this year and I almost feel like we haven’t had the summer heat so fall should be pushed off a bit. I am so behind on TV watching that what I look forward to is checking out series on DVD from last year, especially from HBO and other channels that we don’t get. I am probably the only one in the US who has never seen Game of Thrones!

My favorite season is summer, but it never lasts long enough. I am looking forward to Once Upon a Time starting again. It is a great family show.

  3. I’m loving Criminal Minds and Crossing Lines!

  4. looking forward to the return of grimm, revenge and parenthood and want to watch the new series, hostages
