Nothing At Ease About These Men

In a Ranger's ArmsHi everyone! I’m thrilled to be here today to introduce you to the heroes in my new series: The Men of At Ease Ranch. Book One, IN A RANGER’S ARMS, just released two days ago, and it’s great to finally share these men that have resided in my head the past year…and still reside there.

At Ease is a transition ranch for returning veterans that four former Army Ranger buddies opened in Texas when another of their buddies nearly died by his own hands the year before. Although the underlying message is serious, the books are lighthearted and humorous with a ton of heat.

How could they not be hot with former Army Rangers as heroes? Having fought in battles together, suffered losses together, Stone and Brick Mitchum, along with Cord Brannigan and Vince Acardi, have formed a tight brotherhood, a bond I enjoyed exploring. Same goes with their personalities. I needed to make them different enough, while still having the same military mindset. But they’re human…and on the home front…so, when the right woman comes along, these men start revealing parts of themselves to me that even they didn’t know. hehe

Ah, man, I love my job. Especially when there’s a cowboy, military hero involved. And I have several of them, with three getting their own stories, starting with Stone Mitchum, the hero in Book One. Stone, known to the team as Straight-shooter, is just that. He tells it like it is. He shoots from the hip. What you see is what you get, and what you get is a dark-haired, gray-eyed, steadfast man who resembles Ian Somerhalder. His older brother Brick, is a little more laidback, and with the nickname Romeo, well, he’s the ladies’ man, one-night stand type of guy. Of course, he does have honor and is always up front with his hook ups. He’s tall, broad with dark hair, dimples and brown eyes. He resembles Victor Webster. We’ll find out more about in him Book Two: HER SECRET RANGER.  Their buddy Cord rarely smiles and is dealing with his own demons. He’s known as Warlock, because of his lethal reputation of knowing enemy whereabouts overseas, he has brown hair and green eyes, and he resembles Jensen Ackles. His story will be told in Book Three: HELP FROM A RANGER (tentative title).

As you can see, I’m having a ton of fun sinking my teeth into these heroes…ahem…into their stories, of course. I do kind of have a favorite, but I can’t say, because I don’t want to offend the others. They’re all hot, handsome, capable guys, and very sweet to their heroines.

What about you? Which of these men are your type? Which one would you like to sweep you off your feet for a fictional HEA?

IN A RANGER’S ARMS kicks off my The Men of At Ease Ranch series. Each novel in the series is written as a standalone, but don’t worry, the heroes are in each other’s books, after all, they run the veteran ranch together and operate Foxtrot Construction that employs veterans. Just imagine a hot cowboy ranger wearing a tool belt low on his hips…

Yep, I love my job.

IN A RANGER’S ARMS released November 28th, and I’m excited to share Stone’s story with you. Be sure to visit www.DonnaMichaelsAuthor.com for a full list of my books. And to keep up on my news, future releases, and exclusive contests, join my Newsletter HERE.

Thanks for reading,

~Donna

No amount of training could’ve prepared him for her.

Former Army Ranger Stone Mitchum doesn’t have time for sex. Since starting a company with his brother and two buddies, he’s had more important things on his mind. Like transitioning veterans back into society. But when his curvy new tenant falls into his arms—literally—his libido snaps to attention.

Jovy Larson has four weeks to prove she’s worthy of taking over the family business. Her challenge? Sell gluten-free, vegan food—in the middle of cattle country, Texas. It’s a tough task, but not half as tough as fighting her attraction to her sexy, surly landlord.

Before she knows it, Jovy’s tangling sheets with the hot cowboy, stalked by a jealous cow, and strategizing ways to help Stone’s ranch. But by the time her lease runs out and the test is over, she’s faced with a new challenge…competing against Stone’s sense of duty to win his heart.
