New Release

This month sees the release of my latest book, Colton First Responder, a Harlequin Romantic Suspense novel.  It’s my second in the vast, long-running Colton HRS series.

Colton First Responder is my first release of 2020, and perhaps the only one, although I’m also writing a couple other non-Colton HRS books.  Unlike a lot of authors these days, I’m still nearly entirely traditionally published and, since I enjoy that experience, hope to keep it up.

But a new release.  How does it feel?  For those of you who are also published authors, you know that each new release is a wonderful experience.  Sure, you have to let the world know it’s out there, figure out good ways to promote it, promote yourself and more –not necessarily the most fun thing if you happen to be an introverted writer, although I have gotten over that.

I write because it’s who I am.  I have a subconscious  mind that doesn’t leave me alone.  It’s always plotting and coming up with new ideas.  Then when I get published?  Euphoria!  So right now, I’m feeling pretty good, even as I continue to write more.

And you?  If you’re a writer, you probably can identify with what I’ve said, whether you’re traditionally published or self published or both.  And if you’re a reader, you can imagine what it feels like when the book you’re now reading, whether in print or e-format or both, was first made available to wonderful people like you.  For yes, we writers definitely appreciate those who read our work, and hope they really enjoy it.

So how many times have I felt this way?  Well, Colton First Responder is my fifty-third published novel.  Have I gotten used to this kind of happiness?  As I said, I enjoy it–but there’s always room for more.

One person who comments will win a copy of my first Colton book, Colton 911: Caught in the Crossfire.
