Lyn Cote here — My first date with the man I’ve been married to for MANY years began in February. We’d met at a New Year’s Eve Party and then ran into each other again and that was the moment I knew I kinda liked him. He was a shy guy but finally he asked me out or should I say “up?” He asked me if I’d like to spend an afternoon flying with him. No, he didn’t have his own plane (I didn’t know any billion or millionaires.) but he did belong to a flying club and would rent a small plane. We lived north of Chicago at the time and so off we went into the blue sky above the snowy landscape! A memorable day as he showed me points of interest — one of which was the ski slope by the now long gone Playboy Resort in southern WI. (I did say MANY years.) We met New Year’s Eve, dated in February for the first time and he proposed March 1st. For a shy guy, he did okay!
Fast Forward — When my son found “the one.” I warned her, “If you marry a Cote, you marry the northwoods of WI.” I love living far north in the forest surrounded by glacial lakes — even in winter. It’s snowing as I write this. But hey, I like snow! Many of my books are set in the northwoods. If you’d like to get a feel for it, try WINTER’S SECRET (appropriate to the season, right?) It’s a free ebook so why not? HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!
