I fairly much described where I was in my writing when I blogged at Writerspace last month. My fifth Barkery & Biscuits Mystery, For a Good Paws, is now available. It’s the last in the series, and my last book for its publisher, Midnight Ink, which is closing.
I also talked about how I’m focusing on romantic suspense stories now for Harlequin Romantic Suspense, and that I’m currently writing four books for them, which is great fun. Those deadlines make it too difficult to focus on starting a new mystery series, though… for now. But I’m hopeful of doing both again one of these days.
Meanwhile, I’ve been very busy with writing related appearances, which is a good thing but they do take a lot of time I’d otherwise devote to writing. Last Saturday, I participated in Romance Writer Day at the Anaheim Central Library in Anaheim, California. Monday, I was interviewed for a podcast by All Things Cozy. And today, I’ll be appearing at The Ripped Bodice, the country’s only bookstore focusing exclusively on romances, with a couple of amazing additional panelists: Sheila Roberts and Meg Tilly. All of them fun!
What’s next? Well, in June, I’ll be attending the California Crime Writers Conference, which takes place in the Los Angeles area and is hosted by both the local Mystery Writers of America and Sisters in Crime chapters. I’ll also be on a panel there. And in July, I’ll be at the Romance Writers of America National Conference.
Anyway, I’m hoping that For a Good Paws becomes popular as the goodbye to the series. It can be read without reading the other books–so give it a try!
And if you have any ideas for other events I should participate in, please let me know. I’m always ready to consider more.
