Inspiration is a wonderful thing…

HotRock300“Whenever you are, love will find a way”

The concept of time travel has always fascinated me and a few months ago I was listening to a seventies CD in the car as I travelled to a writer’s conference. I had one of those fabulous creative moments that writers long for.

My recent release Hot Rock was the result of one of that thought as I listened to one song…Lines on My Face… It was one of those great creative hits when the inspiration for your next story blitzes in via your heart. The plot, the characters and the entire story came to me in that afternoon

Here I was bopping along listening to Peter Frampton’s words, and a story line just appeared along with the music. I let the story develop in my head for a few months and when the time came to write it, the words just flowed.

Since the release of Hot Rock I have been surprised by the number of reviewers who talk about the intricacies of the plotting of this book, and how all the plot twists interweave seamlessly. When I wrote the story I didn’t plan or plot for that to happen—it just did, and any inconsistencies were picked up by me as I edited each day.

It would be wonderful if all my books came to me so easily.

Since Hot Rock was released early this week, I have received many emails from readers who want a Hot Rock series; I am going to have to write more, I am sure.

annieI live in Australia, on the beautiful  north coast of New South Wales. I sit in my writing chair and look out over the tranquil Pacific Ocean. Retired from the world of full time work, I am fulfilling my lifelong dream of writing, and currently have nine books published and available, with more to come in 2014.

I write contemporary romance and love telling the stories that always have a happily ever after.

I live with my own hero of many years. Our two children are now grown up and married, and we have two beautiful grandchildren. We  share our home with “Bob” the dog and two white cats.

My love of reading and history began at an early age and I was a child who always carried a book (or two) no matter what I was doing. Several of my favourite books were confiscated from underneath my desk by teachers who had no understanding of my capacity to read while I was doing my schoolwork!

My love of writing developed in “composition” classes during primary school and continued throughout the completion of an English and History degree.

My working life has seen me through several major career changes. I now have retired from the world of full time work and have fulfilled my lifelong dream of becoming a published author.
