I Write Where You Vacation

Everyone, at some point, comes to Florida. Or they want to.

It’s easy to see why: there are magical theme parks in Orlando, luxury hotels in Miami, cruise ships in Fort Lauderdale.

And the beaches… everyone wants to vacation on a Florida beach, am I right? Maybe you have already been here, or are planning a visit.

As a longtime Florida resident, I didn’t used to go to the beach all that often — and I live about five miles away. About once every six weeks, my husband and I would drive over to Treasure Island on a Sunday and take a slow walk on the gorgeous, sugar sand. It’s a barrier island, and there’s a little neighborhood called Sunset Beach, with a tiki bar and some funky hotels. It’s on Florida’s Gulf coast, which means the sunsets are incredible.

“We need to do this more often,” we’d say to each other. “Even being here an hour feels like a vacation.”

And then we’d go home, back to the grind, and several weeks would slip away.

But one Sunday as we walked along, the orange sun dipping below the horizon, I got to thinking. What if I wrote a series inspired by Sunset Beach? It would give me an excuse to visit more. To capture the vacation vibe. What if the story involved a family that owned a historic pink resort, like the Don CeSar on nearby St. Pete Beach? What if the series included the quirkiness of Florida in each book — alligators and guys who sing Jimmy Buffett tunes in tiki bars. Women who work as mermaids, and charter fishermen who see manatees more than their own neighbors?

I got the idea for the Paradise Beach Series back in mid-2017. During all of 2018, I plotted and planned every character and every book. In January of 2019, I took a sabbatical from my day job as a journalist and started to write — often at the St. Pete Beach Public Library. I decided that while I was on leave, I’d try to hit the beach once a week at least, not once a month.

Mission accomplished.

I’m thrilled to tell you that the first book of the Paradise Series, ALL I KNOW, goes live on June 12. It’s the story of Damien Hastings, the youngest son of the Hastings family. The books have a heavy dose of romantic comedy, a lot of sweetness and a delicious dollop of steam. Think Hallmark — low angst, kind characters just trying to do their best — but with a few open-door sex scenes.

It’s my hope that you enjoy reading the Paradise Beach Series as much as I’ve loved writing it. You can pre-order the first book (or order it, depending on when you read this). At the moment, the book is available on Amazon only, and is in Kindle Unlimited.

Feel free to find me on Facebook or Instagram if you’d like to chat about the series, beaches or Florida.

I hope you all have a wonderful summer.

xoxo,

Tamara

ALL I KNOW

From the author of Constant Craving comes a hilarious story about a woman who feels obligated to care for everyone, a sexy Marine who wants to make his first love his forever bride, and a fake wedding proposal that changes everything.

Kate Cooper has come home to Paradise Beach to help her mom recover from surgery. After all, who else is going to run the family’s tiki bar? Spending the winter on a quirky Florida island won’t hurt her, even if her memories might.

Then Damien Hastings, her high school crush, walks into the bar one night. He’s stunning. Intense. Way more muscular than when they were in high school. And he can’t take his eyes off Kate.

When Damien finds out that she needs health insurance, he does what any gentleman would: ask her to marry him. He’s going to Syria for a year as a military contractor, and he’s loved her since he was a kid. It’s the least he can do after what happened all those years ago.

They didn’t return to fall in love. They didn’t expect to have the best sex of their lives. They didn’t plan on meddling moms, a farting dog or a fake engagement.

But strange and wonderful things often happen on Paradise Beach…

ALL I KNOW is Book One in Tamara Lush’s Paradise Beach Series. The novels are all standalone romantic comedies and can be read in any order. If you adore hilarious banter, second chances, and steamy sexytimes, this is the book for you!
