As a writer, I love the first kiss in a story. I love planning it and writing it. The first kiss can set the tone for a book’s sensual level. It also kick-starts the push and pull of the romance. I’ve written quick ones, long ones, hot ones, and sweet ones. If you love romance, you know that characters have many different reactions to that first kiss. Some characters rush into it, others avoid it, some lie about it, some brag about it, a few pretend it never happened, a few follow it with a slap or with great sex . . . or tears . . . or laughter. But no matter how a character reacts to that first kiss, there’s just no REPEATING it! A first is forever!
Except for the butterfly background I used for LORD OF THE HUNT’s kiss, I took these photos. It was fun putting the quotes together with my photos, but don’t be too critical–I’m still trying to figure out how to put the memory card in my camera!
I would love to read your thoughts on first kisses! How memorable was your first kiss?
A few of my kisses…
