Does Time Ever Really Expand?

clockI’m not sure which so-called genius first claimed that time both expands and contracts, but if he was in front of me right now, I’d beg to differ.

Very, very loudly.

I refer to this individual as “he” because it’s hard to imagine any woman being that silly. We all know that—at least for us—time contracts.

Period!

Then, after contracting, it shrinks a bit more while we worry about how little time we have left to do whatever it is we’re supposed to finish doing. Or, as is typical in my case (and I bet in yours), begin doing, so I can finish that as quickly as possible and start doing something else.

As confusing as that sentence is, it frightens me to realize just how much sense it makes to me and probably to just about every woman I know.

Of course, I for one can’t really complain. Despite my ever expanding To Do list, at this point in my life every bullet point represents something I love doing and that I spent much of my earlier life working toward and striving to get to do.

So, I guess it’s safe to say that while time—at least in my experience—is limited to contracting, somehow my blessings keep expanding.

Hmmm, I wonder if the above-mentioned genius has anything to say about that. . . other than “Congratulations.”

How about you? Do you find yourself constantly striving to catch up to your schedule? What takes the most time in your life? What do you most enjoy doing? What do you most dread? I’d love to read all about it and YOU! Someone who leaves a comment before the next Writerspace blog is posted will receive a free copy of my eBook, Mrs. Goodfeller.
