CARTOON PORN?

By: Julia Payton

While stumbling through a friend’s Netflix and then DVD collection, I was recently introduced to the world of anime. Since it’s never come to my notice before, I was surprised and much intrigued that anime has not only versions appropriate for youngsters, but for the adult set, too. There are various kinds, but two of them mainly take notice: ecchi, which is considered to have mildly adult content without sexual intercourse, and then the hentai—which is full out cartoon porn.

Erotic art has long featured in the Japanese culture. Though sometimes banned for the content, this progressive kind of art has predominantly cast mainly larger breasted women with fantastical creatures, and has broadly invited those of different sexualities to explore.

Though sometimes referred to as visual novels, this kind of art isn’t just mindless sex—although that is certainly available for those interested! Initially men were the target audience, but as I sat and watched with my significant other, I began to see how this interest isn’t just for men. Like any sort of porn, it can incite desire, give motivation for pleasure, and test the boundaries of our own personal limitations.

Every single fetish is represented with all kinks explored and no one left out. Women are rapidly becoming viewers of this unlikely eroticism, watching it out of curiosity—as I did initially—then becoming faithful consumers who view it to both stimulate themselves and to likewise bring their personal tastes into open communication with their sexual partner.

The question that arises is this: how open to exploring your sexual side are you? Are you willing to give cartoon porn a chance?

I’m interested in your opinions. What do you think of hentai or ecchi, or of the general idea of cartoon porn? Let me know what you think!

Honestly I’m not familiar with either terms as I’ve never actually watched Cartoon Porn. An author I follow had some graphic art (manga/anime type look) done for a few pages of one of her novels that was erotic and I thought that was kind of neat and interesting. But to answer your question…would I watch it? I don’t know…possibly not as I don’t really watch anything much…since I’m more into reading…maybe I would read it.. Thanks for the blog posts….very interesting.

I have watched all types of anime and find most hentai either to be comical or horrific, in terms of misogynistic and non-consensual. Not my cup of tea. I prefer to animate scenes in my own head while I read.
