First, I’d like to share some news. My new inspirational suspense novel, FINAL REFUGE, has been released and is available on Amazon. It’s the first in my Montana Secrets five-book series. The rest of the novels are completed, and will be released by mid-spring. Here’s a quick description of FINAL REFUGE:
Has the past caught up with her again?
Erin hopes she has found peace at last in a remote mountain town…until an intruder breaks in, but takes nothing. Is this yet another warning?
Her best friend’s killer had taunted her for five long years with anonymous, untraceable threats on the anniversary of the murder with the stark warning: DON’T TELL. But then the messages stopped. She’d thought his frightening game was over. But if he has tracked her down again, will he try to finish what he started so long ago?
And what’s with the handsome guy who moved into the cabin next door? He seems so kind to the little boy with him…but is he the very threat she fears?

Did I mention that there’s a dog in this story? Nope? There seem to be animals of some kind in all of my books, though the four-footed buddies on our acreage are such a part of my life that I hadn’t noticed that trend. LOL! Then a dear author friend pointed out that I had developed an “author brand” (a term that always mystified me) without realizing it.
So now, the top of my website refers to “Faith, family, and four-footed friends—a life in the country” which pretty much sums me up!
We live in the country with three horses, two golden retrievers and six fat, friendly (and neutered) barn cats, though while the kids were growing up we had just about every sort of pet, whether it flew, slithered, hopped or walked. I write heartwarming contemporary romance and romantic suspense stories set in small towns, out in the country, or in the Rockies, both inspirational and sweet, wholesome, feel-good romances without a faith element.
Which brings me to a big question, and I really hope you can help me! From those who respond, there will be three winners who will receive a free e-copy of ONE MORE KISS, which was out this fall, and one will also receive a $10.00 Amazon gift certificate.
So here is my question. There are many authors who write what I do—romance without graphic sex scenes, language, or violence. But what in the world should this be called?!
A common label is “Sweet Romance.” But, some readers think this sounds insipid and saccharine, and some authors agree. Another common label is “Clean & Wholesome.” But again, some think this sounds insipid, or awkward, and some authors of “regular” romances feel this is a bit of an insult to their own books. I’ve been wondering about using “PG-13 romance,” but I suppose even those movies can be beyond what I’m trying to get at. So, what do you think? Do you think one of the above options is best, or can you help me think up something else?
Thanks so much!
BTW, the photo of the goldens is from this past weekend, when our kids and their families were all home for a baby shower (Yay!! A new grandbaby!) and to celebrate a birthday. Thirteen people and SIX dogs, though the Dobie and the Mountain Cur aren’t in the photo. What a great time for us, and a riotous puppy play date for all the pooches!
All my best,

Just “clean”?
That pic is too cute!
What about “Romance Just Right”
Congrats on the new grand baby! My suggestion is ‘Trueheart’.
Fluffy romance.
Soft Romance
Cozy romance
I agree with Rachel. After all, mysteries that do not have graphic scenes, language or violence are called Cozy.
I like Cozy Romance that someone else suggested.
Clean, cozy romance.
Cuddle, Cuddly, Snuggle or Snuggly. Hope this helps. 🙂❤📚
Glad you clarified about the adorable dogs 😆!
Colleen – I like, Onara – very original and I really love!
My suggestions —
“Loveables”
“Kisses of Romance” or vice versa
“Pure Romance”/”Purely Romance”
Best of luck to all!
Congratulations on your new grandbaby. It was great that your family got together. Many memories were made I’m sure. The dogs are adorable. My suggestions: Just Romance or Romance With A Twist.
