Trusting him is dangerous.

But resisting him is almost impossible.

New York Times bestselling author Diana Palmer’s Long, Tall Texans series returns with secrets…and dangerous seduction.

Gaby Dupont knows some men shouldn’t be trusted. Ever. Especially not high-profile lawyer Jake Chandler. How can she trust the man who might be helping her greedy relatives steal her family fortune? To get the inside scoop on Jake’s dealings—and protect herself and her beloved grandmre—Gaby must take a job with the devil himself. Of course, she can’t tell him who she really is…

Jake Chandler knows there’s more to Gaby Dupont than delicate beauty. She’s sweet and clever—but just too young and secretive. Yet even as they clash, Gaby gets under his skin as no other woman ever has. When Gaby comes under fire, Jake risks his career and reputation to keep her safe. But can he protect Gaby without losing his heart?

Susan Spaeth Kyle, aka Diana Palmer, is a former newspaper reporter, with sixteen years experience on both daily and weekly newspapers. She has been married to James Kyle since 1972. They have one son, Blayne Edward, born in 1980, who is pursing a law enforcement career in college. She has a sister, Dannis Cole, who lives in Utah and is also back at college, finishing her degree. Dannis has two daughters, Amanda Belle Hofstetter, a high school senior planning a career as a physician, and Maggie, who is in grammar school.

Susan herself went back to college as a day student at the age of 45, inspired by her husband James, who quit a blue-collar manufacturing job to return to school and get his diploma in computer programming. He retired from his own computer business in 1998 and now pursues skeet shooting medals in local, state, national and international competition. Susan graduated summa cum laude from Piedmont College, Demorest, GA, in 1995 with a major in history and a double minor in archaeology and Spanish. She was named to two honor societies (the Torch Club and Alpha Chi), and was named to the National Dean's List. In addition to her writing projects, she is currently working on her master's degree in history at California State University. She hopes to specialize in Native American studies.
