One of the definitions of anticipation in the Merriam-Webster online dictionary is: ” the act of looking forward; especially : pleasurable expectation.”
That confirms I’m in a state of anticipation. Of what? The next two months, because in each of them I will have a new book published.
Yes, I’ve already had two books published during this busy year: Second Chance Soldier, the first of my K-9 Ranch Rescue stories for Harlequin Romantic Suspense, in March. And then there was Pick and Chews, my fourth Barkery & Biscuits Mystery for Midnight Ink, in May.
But in October, my second K-9 Ranch Rescue story for Harlequin Romantic Suspense will be published: Trained to Protect.
And in November, my ninth Alpha Force story will be published by Harlequin Nocturne, Visionary Wolf. It will be my last Alpha Force story–because the Nocturne line is ending.
There are always a lot of things in life that it’s fun to anticipate. Seeing family members, for one. Going on trips. Even more common ones like taking a dog for a walk, going to a movie or reading a new book, if it’s something you enjoy.
But as a writer, I have to say that the publication of a new book is one of the more fun things to look forward to. And two of them so close together? Definitely delightful anticipation!
Am I anticipating more books? Sure! For one thing, the fifth Barkery & Biscuits story will be published next May, and I’ve reason to believe I’ll have more books traditionally published, too. And maybe I’ll take on some self publishing, too. That’s something interesting to anticipate!
So what are you anticipating now? One person who comments will win a special surprise.
I am anticipating fall and all it’s loveliness.
Ahh. I can understand that. I live in Los Angeles now, but I grew up in Pittsburgh and really loved the fall there.
I am looking forward to fall and would love to read your new Harlequin book and I’m excited about your last alpha force book!!
Thanks, Chasity. The time is soon approaching for both of them!
