I may be the most boring person alive.
Luckily, I’m good with that . . . which could help explain how I got so boring.
We all hear over and over that we should live with passion and pursue those activities that make us feel alive. Well, I’d be fine with that if someone could just tell me what my passion is.
There’s plenty of stuff I like, many things I enjoy, but nothing I can honestly say I feel compelled to do. I don’t spend my life sitting around feeling unfulfilled if I’m not pursuing a particular interest.
I suspect that makes me both unlucky and blessed.
Unlucky because I miss out on the exhilaration that apparently comes from pursuing that which you love the most. Blessed because I’m relatively happy no matter what I’m doing.
There are worse fates.
Still, I can’t help wondering sometimes if I’d enjoy trading places (lives) with someone who’s absolutely possessed by a particular activity. There’s something about that which sounds rather wonderful.
My guess, it would be a life filled with all the colors of the rainbow and plenty of highs and lows.
The high parts sound nice. The lows not so much.
Simply pleasant, feels like a lovely compromise.
