A Dragon Feast for a Dragon New Release

This week my newest dragon shifter paranormal romance, The Warrior King, released and I am super excited about it. To celebrate, and just because it was really fun to come up with ideas, I decided to put together a “dragon feast.” These are flaming good foods that would be perfect to snack on while reading about…dragon shifters!

STARTER | CHIPS & SALSA

I’m a Texas girl, so you know I’ve got to start with chips and salsa! Rather than hot-hot, I’m talking spicy hot for our dragon shifters with this one. The more jalapenos—especially the more seeds you leave in—the spicier salsa gets. Or you can try even hotter options like ghost peppers! Yum!

MAIN COURSE | FONDUE

Usually a dessert, fondue can also be done with cheese. Warmed over a flame burner, it’s a perfect fun option for our dragons! I am a particular fan of beer cheese. It goes great with bread, apples, broccoli florets, boiled baby new potatoes, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, sausage. Here’s a fun recipe to try: https://melaniemakes.com/beer-cheese-fondue/

MAIN COURSE | THAI CHICKEN CURRY

One of my favorite dishes is green chicken curry from my fav Thai restaurant. My husband and I get it every Thursday. (Not at all creatures of habit. LOL) Mine is spicy enough with no extra. But my husband likes to get the extra spice. So for you spicy hot food lovers, this is a terrific option while reading about dragons!

DESSERT | S’MORES

Flame-toasted marshmallows sandwiched with chocolate between graham crackers. I admit I prefer my marshmallows charred. LOL. Want a fabulous twist to this classic? Instead of a regular marshmallow, toast a Peep. You heard me. Those sugar coated marshmallows. The sugar caramelizes and gives the dessert an extra yum factor!

COCKTAIL | FLAMING B-52

We can’t have a flaming dragon feast without a cocktail! A favorite at bars that make a big splash (and taste really good—Flaming B-52. Made with coffee flavored liqueurs, Grand Marnier, and dark rum, it’s great without the flames. Definitely read/understand all safety info before trying it with the flames. Here’s a fun recipe: https://cocktails.foodviva.com/shot-recipes/flaming-b-52-shot/

Don’t forget to check out The Warrior King and the other books from my award-winning Inferno Rising. Like these foods, my dragon shifters are hot, hot, hot! Comment and you’ll be entered to win a $15 Amazon gift card.

I am not a fan of spice. It literally kicks my butt (and activates my acid reflux).

I imagine dragons would love cook outs. They can use their fire to cook foods. LOL.

  2. Thank you so much for hosting me today! I had so much fun coming up with these hot food ideas! 🙂

Your post hits on two of the things I love in Dragons and feasting. That is a truly delicious looking menu. Must admit that I have not come across a flaming cocktail so checked out the link for the recipe and safety concern.

I enjoy curry but I haven’t tried a Thai version.

I’m a Texas girl too and I love hot and spicy! Everything I cook has extra spices in it and Mexican is my favorite. I’ve never really been into Fondue for some reason; I know it’s just cheese, but…who knows?! I’d be all over the Thai food too, yummy! Not a drinker due to medication but that look interesting for sure. Absolutely love the Inferno Rising series, have read and loved them all! Congrats on your new release ~ looking forward to more! <3

The best way to read The Warrior King is with a glass of red wine and a plate of chipotle shrimp with lemon

Spicy doesn’t agree with me. But can’t go wrong with a good ol Smore.

A Cook out with a bunch of lovely gents does sound lovely though.

  9. CL says:

I’m not one for spicy foods because of some health issues, but I’d love to try some of these that are (stomach) friendly for me! Or alter them to fit my diet. Can’t wait to read this one.

The Vestal Virgins

On my recent trip to Rome to finish researching St. Cecilia’s life for my historical fiction novel, Virgin Martyr, I spent some time at the Temple of Vesta and the home of the ancient Roman Vestal Virgins. One of my purposes in writing this book was to investigate how attitudes about women’s sexuality and social… Read More
