WHAT’S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT?

by Susan Meier

Head Over Heels for the BossIsabelle Cooper is in a bit of a spot when her parents sell the family flower shop, Buds and Blossoms, to the newly rich Donovan family. She’s had a crush on Devon Donovan, the oldest of the three brothers, since high school. He was an ‘older man.’ A marine just back from Afghanistan. Tall, brooding, good looking. What normal teenage girl could resist all that?

Every year he got better looking. Every year he seemed to be a little smarter. His brother Finn might have pulled their mom out of her abusive marriage, but lawyer Devon handled her divorce. Everything he did seemed to make him more perfect. And Isabelle’s crush got a little bigger every year, too.

Her friends Piper and Ellie, who just happen to be married to Devon’s brothers, convince her that working for Devon is her opportunity to take a shot with him. They give her a makeover and make sure she has a place at the family table at a wedding, but when Devon sees what’s going on, he simply tells her no.

You’d think that would be the end of the story. Let’s face it. Crushes die when crushed. But because  Isabelle and Devon are in close proximity, working together every day, the little spark of attraction Devon felt at the wedding grows into a flame.

But after she overhears two old biddies accusing her of being a gold digger, only working with Devon to try to rope him into a relationship, attraction isn’t enough to temp Isabelle into embarrassing herself in front of the town. It’s only when she begins to see the real Devon, the truth of his life, the truth of how strong he really is that temptation becomes action.

And that’s what love has to do with it. People will do the craziest things for love. That’s part of what makes life so much fun.  Though Isabelle gives into temptation, and recognizes the real Devon is even better than the guy she made up in her head, she does everything in her power not to fall in love…but it’s so hard not to love someone who so desperately needs to be loved.

Join us in Harmony Hills, Pennsylvania for book 3 of the Donovan Brothers Novels. Isabelle and Devon play a fun game of sneaking around and keeping their romance a secret from prying eyes and listening ears…but nothing ever really stays a secret in a small town, and if this one comes out Isabelle won’t just loose the guy she considers the love of her life…she could lose her job and her sterling reputation.

Happy Reading,

Susan Meier

Not only is she his employee, but as the eldest Donovan brother, he’s too busy protecting the family fortune for romance. But tomboy “Izzy” is all grown up now. And he’s finding it impossible to resist her, no matter how hard he tries…
