Have you ever gotten ten steps into something and stopped cold, only to find out you can’t go back? It’s in that moment you think—What In The Hell Was I Thinking!?!
I am living in that moment, have been for a while and I am not seeing that light at the end of the tunnel yet. By the picture, I think you get where I’m going with this!
See, I’ve found, even as an author, I like reading about my favorite authors, what they’re up to, what they like to do in their spare time. Yes, I do read the blogs and articles about marketing, about trends, etc. But I really like to connect with people, whether it’s at a conference, an email, or messages to Facebook, Twitter or my website. I like to know what people like in books and what drives them crazy about what they’re reading.
So, in that spirit, a little about me. I’m living in renovation hell. Which is actually quite funny since my all-time favorite show is Fixer Upper! Love their online store, love Chip and Joanna, and I love it’s one of those shows I can watch with the whole family and laugh. But why did I think we should live out that show? Lord only knows.
We’d been looking for a new house for about a decade. When this one came on the market I was at a conference. My husband texted me pictures. I distinctly remember telling him, “buy it, we can make the house what we want, we’ll never find that piece of land anywhere else.”
Oh boy. Um? Insert—“what was I thinking?” There’s even a country song with the title. But, it’s going to be what we want when we’re done. It’s our new saying around here. Soon. Someday. One of these days, it’s going to be perfect. Uh? Laughing—kind of.
We love rustic and log cabins so we’re going to go with that and I’ll post pictures as we go on my website just for giggles. However, this is a picture from this morning as I type this. So welcome to my world. At least I can say, it’s never boring! Stay in touch, but hang on it might be a bumpy ride.
Oh! And I almost forgot. Why wouldn’t I just throw a new release in the pot of crazy and stir it up? Right? Easton’s Everything is releasing November 17th. My deadline to my editor—forty-eight hours. Yep. Two days. I told you it was never dull around here.
Hugs,
Amy
