What Makes Falling In Love Worth The Wait?

by A. J. Pine

Today is the release day for the fourth and final book in my Kingston Ale House series (all stand-alone titles). For this book, I wanted to challenge my hero and heroine, Jeremy and Grace, as well as my readers to be—patient.

Because here is the thing. When Jeremy meets Grace, he’s a self-admitted commitment-phobe, preferring one night of fun to anything long-term. And Grace? Well, when she meets Jeremy, she’s given up men. Literally. After a failed relationship that ended not just in a break-up but in her ex stealing her life’s savings and blackmailing her to keep quiet about it, she’s decided to follow the tenets of a self-help book titled, Man Cleanse: Six Months To a Healthy, Happy You. She’s three months into her cleanse when she meets Jeremy and despite their immediate chemistry, determined to stick to it. And for the first time in years, Jeremy finds himself wanting something more than a one-night stand with a woman he can’t so much as kiss.

Is there kissing in this book, though?

Probably.

Is the book still sexy?

Most definitely. The whole series is steamy. Jeremy and Grace just have to get a little creative in order not to break the cleanse.

But—will they, you know—eventually?

I guess you’re going to just have to read.

Until then, I’d like to offer a few reminders of how much more powerful certain firsts can be if we’re just a little patient.

  1. The first realization that you’re in love—even when the audience (or readers) have known for ages.

(getnotey.com)

Seriously, when Cher (Alicia Silverstone) finally realizes she’s in love with Josh (Paul Rudd), aren’t we all just thinking…FINALLY?!!!

    2. Then there’s the first time you actually say those three words…

(tvd1.proboards.com)

When Damon tells Elena he loves her…then glamours her to forget because he thinks she’s too good for him? I mean, I was a #teamdamon goner at that point. And Elena—even though she forgot he ever said it—was, deep down, too.

  1. Then, of course, that first kiss.

(popsugar.com)

Jim was so patient (way more so than me!) waiting for Pam to realize she loved him, too. And that made their first kiss SO much better.

Instant gratification is what we think we want, but when we finally achieve that long-awaited first after what seemed like impossible patience, oh how sweet—and hopefully sexy—it is.

I hope you’ll check out Worth the Wait and see for yourself.

I like to think of myself as a man of pleasure…

I enjoy a good pint of ale, being in the arms of a beautiful woman, and living by my own rules. The only thing I try to avoid? Commitment. And I’ve got a three-year success rate to prove it.

I wasn’t planning on Grace—the beautiful, funny, totally off-limits massage therapist who keeps popping up in my life. She’s on a six-month mission to rid her life of toxins. No alcohol. No red meat. And, yeah, no men. I’m talking full-on man cleanse.

I know I should walk away, but I can’t…and the only way to keep her in my life is to live by her rules. I’ll need to prove to a woman who’s lost all trust in men that I’m worthy of her love. And do it all without so much as a single kiss.

The only problem? If I win, I’ll lose the one thing I swore I’d never give up. My heart.

Each book in the Kingston Ale House series is a standalone, full-length story that can be enjoyed out of order.
Series Order:

Book #1 The One That Got Away
Book #2 Six Month Rule
Book #3 Three Simple Words
Book #4  Worth the Wait
