The Short Version:

If you choose to use Writerspace for your website, we will first talk in depth about your vision for your website. You'll have a number of options that will determine the style and tone of the site. We'll discuss your preferences in regard to design/colors/format, etc. I design all of the graphics specifically for your site, and they will not be re-used on other authors' sites. Before the site goes live, I will provide you with several different design motifs from which to choose.
We will also determine just how "active" a site you would like to have. I can provide a number of venues for fan interaction--bulletin boards, a chat room, or contests. Of course, much of this will depend upon how much time you want to plan on spending at the site. Your site can be designed to accommodate as much or as little interaction as you wish.
With Writerspace you have the option of hiring, not just a web designer or web host, but a webmaster as well. If you choose to have me maintain your site, I will be actively involved in your site on a daily basis. I'll receive and respond to email inquiries from fans, perform regular maintenance checks of all pages, manage any contests you wish to promote through the site, write and distributing an electronic newsletter to fans, and actively promote your site with banner ads and bookcover postcards at Writerspace and through search engines and other romance sites, posts to listservs and bulletin boards, as well as routinely sending out press releases to publishers, book sellers, agents and other off-line media for new site launches, special events, etc. Of course, you may also choose to have Writerspace host but handle day-to-day site issues yourself. We can put together a package of any combination of available services to fit your particular needs
The web design price includes design of original graphics and creation of a motif for the site, unlimited graphic images/text/scans. The monthly maintenance contract also includes web site promotion (listing with major search engines, tracking down lists of author-links and adding your site, sending out notices to romance listservs of website launch and any changes, sending out press releases, etc.), and of course, any design changes/additions, images scans, page creation as needed.
