Two in a Row!

by Linda O. Johnston

This month is fairly unusual for me.  I’m fortunate enough to have had quite a few books traditionally published, with more coming up in the future.  But it’s rare that they’re published back-to-back, one each in two adjoining months.

Like now.

As I’ve mentioned here before, BAD TO THE BONE, my third Barkery & Biscuits Mystery was published in May.  Its publisher is Midnight Ink.

And now, this month, I celebrate the publication of PROTECTOR WOLF, the eighth paranormal romance in my Alpha Force miniseries for Harlequin Nocturne, about a covert military unit of shapeshifters.

So what’s next?  Well, my next book will be a Harlequin Romantic Suspense novel, with it title not yet decided on, but its background, besides the romance, is a K-9 Ranch where dogs are trained–and people fall in love.  And like the title, the publication date hasn’t yet been established.

In case you hadn’t noticed–unlikely–all of the stories I’ve mentioned involve dogs.  That includes my shapeshifter series, since most of the shifters change into werewolves, and they have cover dogs resembling them in shifted form to handle situations where people who shouldn’t see them while shifted actually do see them.  As I mentioned last month, though, the Nocturne line is ending so I’m unsure whether PROTECTOR WOLF will be my last in the series.

But I’m definitely fortunate to have more books to come, and they all include dogs.

It’ll be interesting to see if any more of them are published back-to-back.

  1. You are so lucky that all your publishers like the fact that you love dogs. Perhaps it is your tender treatment of those four-legged creatures that endears your readers to all your books. Congratulations on the back-to-back publications.

Thanks so much! I’m certainly glad that my publishers are happy that I write about dogs. That’s one thing I especially like about cozy mysteries. You can harm people, but not the dogs!
