This is gonna be my rendition of the TTP weekend...........let's rephrase that, it's gonna be what I can remember, lol. I have never been so tired in my life
I'm not sure how many of ya'll knew, but my husband had his right kidney removed a little over 2 weeks ago. The doctor was looking for blockage in his leg, and while they did find it, they also found a tumor. Not fun, lemme tell ya'll. So he had the kidney removed --- and his check up with the doctor was last Monday afternoon. I delayed making a decision about attending this year until AFTER the post-op check and getting the pathology report (no chemo or radiation, yeah!!!).......all is well thank God, so the trip was on.
Wednesday evening --- Julia's sister drops Julia off at my house. She's spending the night with us since her house is an hour+ the wrong way to TTP. So we go to the store, stock up on munchies and drinks and then head back to the house where we ordered pizza --- I'm not in a cooking mood -- I wanna talk :) I spent the entire afternoon pressing all my clothes since we were driving up -- not flying. And like the good girl I am (or is that anal?), I finished all my packing pretty early. I had originally planned to pack the car before we went to bed, but I was just too tired and I wanted to get to bed to make the 5am wake up call I had set ---- geez that was early.
5am -- I wake Julia, we dress and pack the car (or so I thought).
6am -- We are at the gas station, filling up and buying ice, and on the road just as planned. We have to drive to Augusta, GA to pick up Aleena, an Adwoffer, before we head to Hagerstown, so the earlier we get going the better. Missed all the traffic and got out of the city early --- that was nice. Julia and I started chatting early and just kept right on chatting :)
10:30am -- Tuscaloosa, Alabama ----- Bing!!! Bang!!! Boom!!! CRAP!!!!! *@^*%*^#$*!!!!!!!!!! I didn't pack any of my lovely, freshly ironed, razor-sharp pressed clothing! OOOOOH did I ever say a few choice words!!!!!!!!!! Oh oh oh! Is that a KMart right off the interstate???? :::zoooom::: find a parking space, walk in, 10 minutes later walk out with a skirt and 2 shirts --- painless :) But geez, I'm already feeling the embarrassment that's only gonna get worse when we get to Hagerstown, lol. And there is a huge outlet mall there in Hagerstown, so I know I can (and will) pick up a few more things --- shopping is never hard, lol.
So.....do I blame it on the early start??? Do I blame it on ironing the darned stuff??? Was it a senior moment??? Or could it possibly be Jerry's fault for worrying me so much lately????
I will say this........the look on Wendy's, Carla's, Pammy's and Laurie's faces when I walked into that hotel was priceless, lol. GeeGee had a clue --- Ya'll know, I didn't realize just how much I had missed ya'll last year til I saw ya'll Friday. Did I surprise ya'll???????? Made all the crap I'd been through worth it, lol.
