February 11, 2004Congratulations are in order for Julie and Patricia, who won the Key of Light and Key of Knowledge contests respectively. Julie and Patricia, please contact me at darla@writerspace.com to collect your books. I've been having some email problems. First AOL, my primary account, started dumping all my Writerspace mail as spam. That problem's been fixed, and I can receive mail at that address, but I can't send it yet. I'm working on it, but in the meantime, if you get an email from msmoby@aol.com, thats me. Hope you all enjoy the Valentines decorations. They'll probably double as Easter decorations, because I haven't come up with anything I want to change them to yet. New poll should be up soon. Suggestions are welcome. Thanks to Jill for the dozens of scans of book covers and for the Divided in Death quiz! Check them out at The Booklist. There are still a handful of editions I don't have cover scans for--if you have one you don't see on the page, please send it to me. Thanks also to Joy and Heather for volunteering to write the quiz for Remember When. I haven't heard back from you, so I'm guessing the email problem's at fault. Please contact me if you're still interested. This month's contest is for a paperback copy of Key of Valor. Find the bookworm and click on it to get to the entry form.

November 15, 2003Congratulations to Christina, who won the paperback copy of Imitation in Death! We have TWO contests this month. One is the holiday contest, that you enter by clicking on the present icon on the front page. The other is our regular contest. Find one of the five bookworm icons throughout the site and click on it to access the contest entry form. The Holiday Contest is for a copy of Once Upon A Midnight, and the regular contest is for Key of Light, the first book in Nora's new trilogy. Two chances to win this month. Good luck! You may have noticed that none of the polls on the Poll Madness page work any longer. They were all on Freevote.com, and have apparently all been deleted. That's also caused a problem with developing the casting pages, because they were based on the Freevote.com polls. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, please let me know at darla@writerspace.com. Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!
October 16, 2003I don't have much to say--just a quick congratulations! to Marguerite for winning the signed hardcover copy of Birthright! The new contest starts today, and it's a little bit different. There are five bookworms hidden around the site. Click on one, and it will take you to the entry form. Since you're here, click on the bookworm at the top of this page and enter to win a copy of J. D. Robb's Imitation in Death.

September 14, 2003Whew! Bet you've noticed the lack of updating, huh? It's been a long, busy summer. We spent most weekends in our 30-foot travel trailer at Canyon Lake, and although I did get a new laptop to take along, there wasn't internet access out there. Then there was the trip to TTP in July, that started out with our Expedition being totaled 3 hours into the 30-hour trip. It was a wonderful time despite the inauspicious beginning. The rest of the summer was taken up with shopping for a new car, and getting my daughter ready for college this fall. But now I'm back, and I've gotten a few things done in the 3 weeks since school started: Congratulations to Tracie on winning the copy of Three Fates! I was late in letting her know, but I was able to get it signed. Go to the Contest Entry Page to enter the new contest for a signed hardcover copy of Birthright. The most obvious update is the New Poll! I should have the results of the old poll up in the Poll Archives shortly. There are a lot of new stories about meeting Nora on the Meeting Nora Page. If you made it to TTPVII this summer, or to the RWA Literacy signing, or if you've met Nora sometime in the past, please email me with your story and photos. More cover scans are up, on the Coming Soon Page, and on the corresponding Book Pages. Thank-you to Katy, whose eagle-eyes caught a mistake on the Betrayal in Death Quiz. If you find any mistakes, please email me and let me know. Many thanks to Jill, who wrote the Quiz for Imitation in Death. We still need quizzes for Purity, Portrait, and Seduction, and answers for Loyalty. Email me to volunteer. Upcoming plans: A Q & A page where I'll post all the question visitors have asked along with the answers. I haven't forgotten about the Posting Board or Casting Pages. They're just going to take some time.
May 2, 2003Just a quick note to congratulate Pam on winning the copy of Portrait in Death! Go to the Contest Entry Page to enter May's contest for a paperback copy of Three Fates.Got a lot of tidying up done this week--fixing broken links, book cover scans that wouldn't show up, etc. Also remodeled the Booklist page a little. Check it out. If you notice any broken links, missing pictures, typographical errors, please email me and let me know, and you'll get your name in the newsletter! In my housecleaning, I noticed we don't have a lot of photos here. If you have any photos of Nora, of signings, of TTP events, email them to me for our Pictures page. If you'd like to send a snapshot of yourself as well, I'd like to add them to the Meet McNab pages. And yes, I'm working on Casting, a new Poll, and a Posting Board. Soon. I hope.
April 26, 2003Well, our first contest is just about over, and the next one is about to begin. I'll announce the winner here, after notifying her by email. Check the Contest Entry Page for details on May's contest. It's going to be a little different this time, and I think it'll be fun.The biggest change this month is the McNab Profiles Page. Check out the changes. It's much easier to read now. Thanks to everyone who sent in their profiles. If you haven't sent yours in yet, use the McNab Profile Form to do so. FYI: Filling out any of the forms here sends an email to me so I can update the page--updates don't show up automatically. And as always, AOL members will need to copy & paste the information onto the email. Another new thing I've added is a TTP Page. Don't know what TTP is? Go there and find out how to win one of 29 fabulous raffle baskets. Nora's Birthright tour has finished, and there are several reports from those of you who had a chance to catch up with her. Check them out at the Meeting Nora page. If you have a story you'd like to share, or photos from meeting Nora that you'd like to share, please email them to me. The best-laid plans of mice and men.... and webmistresses.... I've gotten behind recently for a variety of reasons including dental surgery, so a lot of the things I'd planned on getting done this month didn't get done. Hopefully May will be better. All the best,
March 25, 2003Wow, a lot has happened here in the last month and a half. A lot happening in the world, too. As this is a place to escape from everyday life, I'm not going to dwell on the war here, other than to send my support and thanks to all the soldiers, sailors, and marines currently in harm's way.The most noticeable change here is the new background. More colorful, and that annoying line that ran down the middle of a lot of the text is gone. I can hear the cheers now. In my search, I found several I liked, so look for color changes more frequently from now on. There's a new contest! Email me or go HERE for the entry form and to find out what you can win. The character pages are up and running, but by no means complete. This is a long-term project, but I saw no reason to keep it hidden until it's finished. Check them out, and please E-mail me if you find any errors. The In Death Quizzes are coming along. I just added the Judgment in Death quiz. I'm still waiting for volunteers to write quizzes for Purity in Death and Portrait in Death and to find all the answers for Seduction in Death. If you'd like to volunteer, E-mail me. A new poll should be up soon, maybe today, depending on how things go. More cover scans have been added to the individual book pages. The interviews page has been updated. Please E-mail me (I'm feeling like a broken record here) if you have an interview or article to add. Casting pages, Posting Board, and Guestbook are still on the horizon. I'll keep you posted as things develop. Happy spring to all, and stay safe.
February 7, 2003I can't believe it's only a week until Valentine's Day! I was hoping to get new graphics up to celebrate, but, well.... I've been busy with other things instead. In Death Quizzes--They're up now. You can get to them through the In Death Series page. Since many of the quizzes aren't multiple choice, I decided against making them interactive. Lots of cover scans up now, both on the Coming Soon page and on individual book pages through The Booklist. I've begun weeding out the links on the Polls and Interviews pages, taking out the ones that no longer exist. If you're aware of any interviews, articles, or polls having to do with Nora, please E-mail me and let me know. One project I hadn't mentioned before that I'm working on is a comprehensive list of characters. It's not ready for viewing yet, but I'll keep you posted as it progresses. A new poll should be up very soon, as well as some new graphics. The casting pages will take a little longer, but I'm hoping to have them up in the next month or two. A new posting board and guestbook are still up in the air. I'll keep you posted on the progress. Thanks for visiting, and Happy Valentine's Day!
January 1, 2003New Year, lots of new things. New webmistress---I'm Darla. Some of you may recognize me from the JDRobb list on YahooGroups (formerly egroups, formerly onelist), or the Berkley/Jove Authors Forums here on Writerspace. I'm new to website design, so bear with me while I learn the ropes. So far, I have the booklist updated, and all the books now have summaries. Please feel free to submit reviews of the books you've read, or recommendations of Other Authors with an email to Darla@writerspace.com or use the book review form or other authors form. Please feel free, as well, to e-mail me with any comments or suggestions. As I said, I'm new at this, so suggestions may take a while to implement, but I will take them under consideration. As for what I have planned in the near future... Casting Pages--moving them from the old site. In Death Quizzes--McNab members will be familiar with these. Initially, they'll be just the quizzes linked to the book summary pages, but eventually, I'm hoping to make them interactive. Posting Board--we need a new one, and I'll be working on that, and introducing a Topic of the Week or Month to get us chatting. Book discussions from McNab will also spill over into the messageboard, for those who prefer a messageboard format to the email list format. I'll be posting the reading list once we get the messageboard up & running. Polls--Hopefully, I'll get a new poll up soon, and get back to the monthly poll. Suggestions for topics are welcome. I'm excited about the challenge, and I hope you enjoy the site. My thanks to Murialisa for developing such a fabulous site, and to Sara & Cissy at Writerspace for giving me the chance to work on it. Wishing you all a Happy New Year!
