TAKEN BY THE RAIDER Releases Today!

Dear Reader,

It's been a busy run of newsletters, but I will be settling back into a monthly schedule through spring. After today, I won't have a new release until June 14th (read more below!) so we can both chill out as we wait for the snow to melt.

Speaking of which...

Time To Chill

He is showing his age, is he not? He reminds me of a documentary my daughter and I saw many years ago about Scottish artist Andy Goldsworthy called Rivers & Tides.

Andy uses nature as his medium. Sometimes he arranges leaves or petals in a puddle, or creates a sculpture from driftwood, always knowing that wind or waves will quietly erode it, maybe even before he finishes. It's a captivating film and well worth your time if you can find it.

Speaking of spring, I'll be in Las Vegas in April. If you're planning to go to the RT Convention, be sure to read all the way to the bottom to find out how to see me while we're both in Sin City.

TAKEN BY THE RAIDER — Releases Today!

 [cover:Taken By The Raider]

I've been so thrilled (and entertained) by the early reviews for TAKEN BY THE RAIDER. This one is from Netgalley:

"Taken by the Raider by Dani Collins was a short, hot read in the Bad Boy Short series. You never know what you're going to get with a novella, but this one was a full HEA story with some amazing characters. Griffen and Aubrey had amazing chemistry, which was why their "relationship" started and ended the first time. And when Griffen decided that wouldn't be the end of it, he took what he wanted. An adorable idiot, even though he was ruthless. I'll read more by Dani Collins."

And this one on Goodreads made my day! (Thanks Valerie, if you're here!)

"This short novella certainly packs a punch to your heart. Ms. Collins has given her readers a quick one two with unforgettable characters that reach for your heart and don't let go. Somehow she manages to get in a fast paced but well thought out plot line that has you remembering why you love her writing style so much. The story is very clear and doesn't leave you wanting, well for anything else than another one of her stories. Pick up this novella if you want something hot, something with a bad boy, and something quick to heat you up.

If you would like your own ‘adorable idiot,’ TAKEN BY THE RAIDER is out today on all digital platforms! (Sometimes Nook takes a day or two to show up and I'm writing this days ahead. That's why the link isn't below.)

Montana Born — My Next Book Revealed!

Hint: This photo was taken while I was doing research for my Montana Born books last fall, driving the Going To The Sun Road in Glacier National Park.

I'm often superstitious about my works in progress. If I get feedback too early (good or bad) it really messes with my confidence in a manuscript. For example, the Tule team was very enthused about my corporate raider suggestion for TAKEN BY THE RAIDER, but that just gave me performance anxiety! What if I didn't live up to their expectation?

There's another reason I often only drop hints about the works that are not yet ready for sale: I'm so prolific I feel like all I'm doing is screaming, "Here's another one!" I'm trying to give us both a breather from my promotion efforts, Dear Reader!

But I came across something the other day and it made me so eager to tell you about my next Montana Born book.

We have a fun little tradition in our house with Kinder Surprise Eggs. I think I've mentioned it before (along with the fact these candy/toys are illegal in the US, so you may not have seen them. Apparently they're a choking hazard.)

At Christmas and Easter I buy up a few of these treats. They go into stockings and get hidden around the house, but most importantly, when we open them, we first ask our egg a question. It's kind of like a magic eight-ball. I often ask what my next book will be about or where my publishing career will take me in the new year.

The answers, as you can imagine, are cryptic! For instance, I have a polar bear and a panther on my desk that have yet to reveal their secrets. However, when I came across this the other day, I had to laugh.

This guy has been collecting dust on my shelf for months, but given the manuscript I had just completed, the minute I saw him again, I had to rush downstairs and tell my husband to never doubt the Kinder oracle.

What does he look like to you, Dear Reader? Could this little guy, with his flame colored parachute and sooty face be a Wildfire Smoke Jumper?

Yes! I'm working with an amazing line up of four other authors (Tracy Solheim, Karen Foley, Nicole Helm and Victoria Purman) on five smoke jumpers out of Montana. Then the series will leap over to Australia where you'll be able to read about four more hot, sexy firefighters!

My title is still up in the air (like a parachute, get it?) but the book is tentatively scheduled for June 14th and you will get all the news as it comes available by staying tuned right here, Dear Reader.

What's Next

Hopefully I'll have a cover reveal for the July book soon. It's the follow up to PROOF OF THEIR SIN that I've told you about in other newsletters, featuring Paolo's cousin Vittorio.

I so enjoyed revisiting Paolo and Lauren in this story and I love Gwyn and Vito. This one is titled BOUGHT BY HER ITALIAN BOSS. Here's the blurb:

An affair of convenience!

Gwyn Ellis is in big trouble. Scandalous photos of her have been released online, slandering her as an adulteress and threatening her hard-earned job with Donatelli International Bank. No one wants to hear how she's been framed...no one except her boss, the darkly sexy Vittorio Donatelli!

Vittorio will do anything to protect his company from scandal—he's kept the secret of his true parentage hidden for years. So if it means making stunning Gwyn his mistress to combat the vicious rumors, then he'll do it...with pleasure!

Wishing you much chocolate on Valentine's Day!

Take care,

Dani
