Happy New Year!

Dear Reader,

I hope you've enjoyed a safe holiday season with much love around you!

It's only the 23rd as I write this, but I can report that my holiday season has been wonderful thus far. My daughter is home safe and brought her boyfriend to stay the week. I'll be doing a Christmas brunch, but my mom has decided to cook the big turkey dinner on Boxing Day so my sister and her husband can be there.

My daughter has been baking for me (shortbread and gingersnaps!) She and her boyfriend built this guy to greet our holiday visitors and there is more snow on the way. (Check out my Facebook page for a few more snapshots around my house.) Definitely a White Christmas here! Does it get any better?

As for 2016, I'm always excited by new starts. I often go through a New Moon Wishes ritual and meant to do one with the solstice on the 21st, but happened to be in a car most of the day.

Do you make resolutions? Mine are more like goals for myselfusually lofty ones, as you know. For instance, last year I swore I would keep this December light deadline-wise. Then I committed to a short story, thinking, It's short. I wound up stressed. My intention in 2016 is to take another run at that December-off goal!

Are you wondering what's in store for you from Dani Collins Romance Author in 2016? Read on!

The Marriage He Must Keep Releases Today!

I'm kicking off the year with my The Wrong Heirs baby swap duet. You should be seeing this first one on your shelves by now. If you signed up for a postcard, it should be in your hands or very close to being there!

So far reviews have been really good. Here's one from Goodreads:

"This was my first book from Dani Collins and she did not disappoint! I absolutely loved the storyline!" ˜ Goodreads Reviewer 5/5 Stars

And this one is from Contemporary Romance Reviews

"The ending of the story was just as entertaining, gripping and emotional as the beginning of the story and I'm actually really sad to reach a close on Alessandro and Octavia's story. I'm very much looking forward to seeing them again Book 2, Enrique's parents story." ˜ TashNZ

Book Two, The Consequence He Must Claim, is the one I was calling Spanish Amnesia. My hero, Cesar, doesn't know he slept with his PA, Sorcha, so how could he have fathered her child?

My son laughed so hard when I told him that. He said I really missed an opportunity when the hospital asks Cesar for a DNA sample. "He should have said he didn't expect a Spanish Inquisition." (You're welcome, Monty Python fans.)

Other Releases

I managed to finish my short story in December. It will likely be out in February or March, right behind the baby swap. It's about a bad boy corporate raider and the woman he ‘acquires’ in a hostile takeover. I'll tell you more about that when I have a cover and a release date. I should emphasize that it's short—about one hundred pages. But I packed as much emotion and angst and hot sexy times into it as I could!

In December, I also had wonderful news from my Harlequin Presents editor right before she left for her Christmas break. She accepted my Runaway Bride story, now titled THE SECRET UNDER THE VEIL. That was a Happy Christmas To Me! It's scheduled for September.

What's Next

Ha! I managed to get a new photo for this section. I had both my daughter and sister taking photos. This one is my sister's work. It's not the greatest focus-wise, but I thought you would like the long view of my office. I cropped the bottom where I had taken all the clutter off my desk and set it on the floor—my desk is never this clean! On the right are my copies of my books, one of each author copy I receive.

And no, I don't sit at my desk and read my own books, lol. I actually do write here. This month I'll continue working on a new story for Tule's Montana Born. It's not directly linked to my Marietta stories, but I'm hoping to push a cameo or two from Marietta into it.

This is a new town/series and I can't wait to tell you more when I'm allowed. For now, I'll tell you that it's a friends to lovers. Vin comes from foster care and Jacqui is grieving a loss. Jacqui agrees to sell her house to Vin, but they wind up living in it together. It's supposed to be a temporary arrangement, but... (wink!)

This one will likely be out in June on all platforms, but ebook only.

I also have a proposal to send in to my editor, but more on that next letter.

Happy New Year!

Dani
