Did You Read Little House on the Prairie?

My latest Love Inspired Historical romance Frontier Want Ad Bride is set in Pepin, Wisconsin, the birthplace of Laura Ingalls Wilder, author of all the “Little House” books. Pepin was the setting of the first “House” book, The Little House in the Big Woods.

I really tried to capture that “Little House in the Prairie” feeling with the books in my “Wilderness Brides” series since the Little House books inspired me to write this series. Here’s a link to a video about Laura Ingalls Wilder.

I’ve had such fun researching and writing about this frontier setting. In the first book in this series, Their Frontier Family, I actually included a family patterned after the Ingalls who would have been living in Pepin during the story’s time period right after the Civil War. And I had the family leave Pepin for Nebraska as the Ingalls did in real life. I do love to interject authentic history into my stories!

In Frontier Want Ad Bride, Judith Jones and her twin Emma come to Pepin to meet their husbands to be. But of course, nothing ever goes the way we’ve planned, right? So did you read the Little House books? I loved them! Did you?

BTW, here are the buy links for Frontier Want Ad Bride. all online retailers in print and ebook.

And finally remember it’s not too late to pick up my short story collection, “Two Seasons of Romance” for free. Here’s the link.
