Oliveria - ?
Flash1 - I LOL I was walked thogut that one, just for Kit! LOL
Sara - ooh, Georgia, you live there too? they are putting together a readers/authors luncheon with Writerspace people in Sacramento
Flash1 - Don;t know yet, Georgia, but I may get about 60 use out of my knee after it heals. I have to wait and see
Cissy - Georgia, before we go on to Q&A can we get you to introduce yourself to the group and tell us a bit about ANOTHER SUMMER?
SarahB - Why can't anyone live in Virginia???
Sara - got you in line, Oliveria
georgia bockoven - Hi Cel! I'm doing a lot of booksignings for ANOTHER SUMMER. Hope to see you at one of them!
mahismart has timed out.
Flash1 - Sarah, it is // and the word moon
CCaro - You guys think this is a scam??? I don't know what to think.
Flash1 - WEll, Sarah, I am in Maryland! WE are like neioghboors! LOL
georgia bockoven - A little bit about myself . . . can't be done. Takes pages and pages. Now, if I knew how to make one of those smiling icons, I would.
SarahB - Thanks Flash. I hope not to HAVE to use it.
Cel - I hope so too, Georgia
Sara - okay, ladies, let's pay attention here! we have a new author onboard!
Sara - ?
SarahB - Maryland is practically next door.
Flash1 - It is a scam Caro! Like any publishers, e book publishers do not ask for money from you. HTEy offer you a contract and a percentage of teh royalties. This is a scam!]
gracie has timed out.

Flash1 - Hey Nonni, Muri!
Cissy - Hi Murialisa
Welcome to our chat with Georgia Bockoven! We're talking to Georgia about her latest release ANOTHER SUMMER. We're operating on protocol, so if you have a question for Georgia, just type ? and I'll call on you in turn.
Flash1 -
georgia bockoven - Now, about ANOTHER SUMMER. It's the sequel to THE BEACH HOUSE, a book I did a couple of years ago that worked really well and was well liked so I figured, hey, let's go there again!
Oliveria - logged on - from 205.188.193.43 on 11/29 at 9:06pm EST
SarahB - Psst, Sara, do you think Georgia lives in Sacramento?
BettyGene -
- from 152.163.205.59 on 11/29 at 9:06pm EST
CCaro - Well, $399 for the initial start-up. Editing, and trying to promote the book to other companies. They did send me a contract.
Flash1 - wb Olivera!
Sara - I think she might, Sarah
georgia bockoven - No, actually, Georgia lives in Rocklin--outside Sacramento. Used to be the country, now it's so built up that it's more city than Sacramento--almost.
Flash1 - No! You pay nothing, Caro! The publisher handles all of that! Nothign coems out of pocket! What;s teh name of this company? I'll check them out
Cissy - Is ANOTHER SUMMER a series of stories in one book, Georgia?
Sara - sounds like a good plan, Georgia!!
Sara - oh, my!! Janice lives in Rocklin!! A match!!
Barbara Daly has timed out.
Flash1 - But I have been published by two differetn e book publishers, and I have paid them nothing! They pay me for my work!
Oliveria - AOL is acting up
Cissy - CCaro and Flash, let's talk to Georgia for now. She's come to talk to us
CCaro - 1st Books library is there name. They give you quite a few options to choose from.
CCaro - Sorry, Cissy.
Flash1 - Sorry! Scames kind of make me mad!
georgia bockoven - Since I'm supposed to be talking about ANOTHER SUMMER, let me tell you a little of the format. It's the same as THE BEACH HOUSE--four different stories told over the summer months, each month a different story.
Sara - ???
georgia bockoven - Let me put in my 2 cents about paying to be published. Don't!
Cissy - I think that's the coolest idea, Georgia -- and the excerpt I read *really* made me want to read it.
SarahB - I have to go. Best of luck with the book, Georgia.
Cel - ?
Flash1 - ???
SarahB -
- from 216.222.77.91 on 11/29 at 9:09pm EST
Cissy - Thanks for coming, SarahB
CCaro - Thanks for the input, Georgia.
georgia bockoven - Thanks SarahB!
Cissy - Oliveria has the first question (Sara, Cel, Flash1 in line)
Smokie~ has timed out.
Leena - Night SarahB. Thanks for coming!
Oliveria - Is Georgia Brockoven you real name?
DeAnna - logged on. - from 64.12.103.177 on 11/29 at 9:10pm EST
Leena - Hi DeAnna!
Flash1 - Hey DeAnna!
CCaro -
Hi DeAnna.
georgia bockoven - Yes. I'm glad I didn't start under another name. It makes it easier.
SuzeK - logged on. - from 4.33.100.182 on 11/29 at 9:11pm EST
Cissy - Hi DeAnna
Welcome to our chat with Georgia Bockoven! We're talking to Georgia about her latest release ANOTHER SUMMER. We're operating on protocol, so if you have a question for Georgia, just type ? and I'll call on you in turn.
Cissy - Welcome, SuzeK
Flash1 - hey Suze
Sara - hi
CCaro - Hi Suze.
georgia bockoven - On the "real name" thing. My agent sold my books to Russia and I never saw a copy. Then Susan Wiggs informed me they were being brought out under Daniell Steeles' name. Funny, huh?
Cissy - Sara has the next question (Cel, Flash in line)
Oliveria - ?
Sara - welcome Georgia. This format is very interesting. Does each of the four stories have their own main set of characters or do they flow through the book?
Cissy - oh my god, Georgia - that's awful!
Cel - OMG Georgia, that's horrible
Flash1 - Ouch Georgia! that sucks!
georgia bockoven - Each story stands on its own but there are a couple of characters that "tie" the book together and show up throughout.
gracie - logged on. - from 209.78.170.202 on 11/29 at 9:13pm EST
Cissy - Hi gracie
Welcome to our chat with Georgia Bockoven! We're talking to Georgia about her latest release ANOTHER SUMMER. We're operating on protocol, so if you have a question for Georgia, just type ? and I'll call on you in turn.
Flash1 - hey Gracie
Cel - thanks for taking my question, Sara
georgia bockoven - Yeah, I was a little upset when I first found out. But then I'm sure Ms. Steele was, too. They paid. Oh, did they pay. I have a new kitchen as a result.
Cissy - well now you can think of a new question, Cel!
Sara - hey, no problem, Cel!!
Nonni has timed out.
Cissy - LOL, Georgia! Well *that's* good at least!
Flash1 - There is justice in teh world! LOL
georgia bockoven - About the format of ANOTHER SUMMER--think anthology with one writer doing all the stories.
Sara - well, Georgia, that is something! New kitchens are nice!
Oliveria - That is if you can cook
georgia bockoven - I found out later that Russian publishers are famous for doing shady things.
CCaro - Wow, Georgia! How awful.
Cissy - Cel has the next question (Flash in line)
Cel - Georgia, are you booksignings going to be put up on your site (so I'll know where I can go to meet you again)?
georgia bockoven - Oh, you don't have to cook . . . do you?
Flash1 - Note to self! Watch Russian Publishers!
georgia bockoven - Cissy, if I send you the information about the signing will you put them up for me????
Cissy - absolutely, Georgia
Sara - my daughter, bless her, LOVES Martha Stewart! *hanging head* it is a sad world
georgia bockoven - Oh, and Cissy, I love the flash. It's waaay cool.
Cissy - oh Sara, that's so sad...
Oliveria - ?
Cel - oh no, Sara...that is truly sad
Flash1 - ROTFLMAO Sara! LOL
georgia bockoven - I have friends who call me MS. It's because I make these envelopes and stationary out of old calendars, not because I cook.
Cissy - Cel has the next question (Flash, Oliveria in line)
Cel - I already asked it Cissy and Georgia answered
Cissy - lol, Cel - somehow missed that
Flash1 - snicker
Cissy - Flash has the next question (Oliveria in line)
georgia bockoven - How about if I ask one. What do you all think about having a "beach book" come out in December. Think it's going to just sit there on the shelves?
Cissy - No, Georgia - we all need some "beach" right now!
Oliveria - Not if you live in Rhode Island like i do
DeAnna has timed out.
Cissy - at least that's my take
Flash1 - Okay! Easy one!
Is there iny connection between the characters in your first novel and the second! And also, what is teh time span between the two!
Cel - As misreable as the weather has been the last few days, Georgia, I would love to read about the beach.
Flash1 - Makes me remember the good times! LOL I like it!
Leena has timed out.
Flash1 - How I miss South Beach! Waaaaa! LOL
georgia bockoven - Some of the characters do return. It was tricky to make them fit into the story naturally but I think I managed it. I hate sequels where you feel you're left out of something if you didn't read the first story so I tried really hard not to let that happen.
Flash1 - Kewl!
georgia bockoven - Oh, the time span--I think it's three years.
Flash1 - Ohh! A lot csan happen in three years~
gracie - logged on. - from 209.78.170.202 on 11/29 at 9:23pm EST
Flash1 - wb Gracie
Cissy - Oliveria has the next question (no one in line)
georgia bockoven - The tricky part about bringing characters back was to find a way to bring back the old couple who died in the first book. But I managed it.
Oliveria - Who are your fav Authors?
Flash1 - Parnormal? Cool!
georgia bockoven - The "beach" in this series is Monterey Bay, CA
Flash1 - ?
Oliveria - logged on - from 205.188.193.43 on 11/29 at 9:24pm EST
Barbs - Hate to run but need to-I will look for Another Summer Thanks
Sara - ah, Georgia, they were decomposing, were they?
Flash1 - Night Barbs!
Oliveria - Who are your fav Authors?
beacyn - nite Barbs
georgia bockoven - Oh, favorite authors . . . I have a ton. Of course I read my friends. I love Kristin Hannah and Susan Wiggs and Catherine Coulter and Mary Jo Putney and on and on and on.
Flash1 - Snicker Sara!
georgia bockoven - Oh, Sara, you won't believe how exciting it is when they are dug up!!!
Sara - weren't -- sheesh, you have me all shook up! between nightmares of Martha Stewart in the kitchen and dead couples, I am losing my touch!
DeniseM - logged on. - from 65.165.86.66 on 11/29 at 9:25pm EST
Cissy - oh, they're all great, Georgia
georgia bockoven - Oh, Sara, you won't believe how exciting it is when they are dug up!
Flash1 - ROTFLMAO Georgia! LOL
Flash1 - Hey Denise!
Cissy - lol, Georgia!
DeniseM - hi
Cissy - Georgia, what's the release date on ANOTHER SUMMER, btw?
Oliveria - What insirpate you to write
CCaro - Hi Denise!
georgia bockoven - This is my first experiment with anything close to paranormal and boy, was it fun!
georgia bockoven - Cissy! how kind of you to ask. The release date is Dec. 4.
Oliveria - ?
Sara - okay, so this has a paranormal element in it? that is COOL!
Flash1 - ????
Cissy - hey, it was a selfish question, Georgia - it's on my list to buy!
georgia bockoven - This couple was just so special it was hard not to include them.
Cissy - Oliveria has the next question (Flash in line)
DeniseM - Hi, CCaro
Oliveria - What inspirted you to write
Sara - ?
georgia bockoven - What inspires me to write has a lot to do with needing an income!
Flash1 - ROTFLMAO
CCaro - I love paranormal romances.
Cissy - and kitchens!
Flash1 - can't leave outt he kitchens! LOL
georgia bockoven - What else inspires me to write is something I've just begun to understand myself. I think some people are natural-born story tellers. I guess I fall into that place.
Cissy - Flash has the next question (Sara in line)
Flash1 - Okay! How did you bring the couple back? I hope not in hungry zombie form! LOL
Sara - oh, we could do some "strange" things here
Cissy - lol, Flash!
Flash1 -
georgia bockoven - Well, I considered the hungry zombie form but settled for a lonely little boy who was suffering from the lack of attention by parents who were grieving over the loss of their nine month old baby girl. Wait -- I had to stop and laugh at the icon. There's also a magical cat who helps the healing. I loved this story.
Oliveria - That is cool Flash
gracie - logged on. - from 209.78.170.202 on 11/29 at 9:32pm EST
Flash1 - Ohhh! that sounds touhing and possisably heart wrenching, Georgia!
Cissy - ooh, magic cats
Oliveria - ?
georgia bockoven - Actually, I love all of these stories. When I write about people they become real to me and I miss them when the story is finished.
Flash1 - Had to remember the mummy icon, Oliveria! LOL
Flash1 - Gracie!
Sara - wow, that sounds intriguing, Georgia
Cissy - I really loved reading the excerpt, Georgia - you managed to make me care about all 4 stories in just a few scenes
Cissy - Sara has the next question (Oliveria in line)
Sara - and they say paranormal is verbotten! sheesh
georgia bockoven - On top of loving the people in ANOTHER SUMMER, I loved the setting. The ocean is my place. I go there when I want to feel reborn.
Sara - oh, oops, my turn?
Sara - okay, hang on
georgia bockoven - If it ever gets finished, the website is going to have this really cool movie trailer that uses scenes from the book.
Cissy - oh, same here, Georgia -- you're not a Pisces are you?
Sara - now, this a bit off (unless you have sold ANOTHER SUMMER) but can you tell us about your time in visiting the movie set of YOUR film?
Flash1 - Sigh! My place is in Aruba, surrounded by cababa boys! Maybe one day! LOL
georgia bockoven - No, I'm a Leo. Can't you hear me roaring over here?
CCaro - I'm a Pisces, Cissy. March 1, 1967!!!!
Cissy - March 4, '65 here, CCaro
Oliveria - Do you have to read the first book in order of the second to make sese
georgia bockoven - Visiting the movie set was one of the most fun things I've ever done. Everyone was wonderful to me and I felt like a celebrity.
kitkat - Cissy, caro, March 3, 1973 here
Flash1 - April 4, 73! Canl;t you hear me being demanding and overbearing? LOL
georgia bockoven - NO! You absolutely do not have to read the first book. But trust me, you'll want to. <G>
beacyn - CCaro...you already know mine...lol
Flash1 - Kewl, Georgia!
