Leanne Banks - as long as I'm not talking about me, I can ask questions whenever I want. Cissy said so.
SIMPSON - sorry.....shall I behave?
Marilyn_Alabama - Leanne, just how low IS snail spit? Seriously, for all the authors... All three stories were wonderful "feel-good" stories that left me wanting to pull out the garland and decorate my house. In what way, if any, has September 11 affected your writing?
Sherryl Woods - This is a very raucous crowd, Cissy
SIMPSON - Ok...then....fine!!!
Cissy - why start now, Simpson

O - Sheryl i looked on your webstie what are the orders of the Delany's
Sherryl Woods - Marilyn...I've alwasy tried to write warm, funny stories and I know that now that's exactly what I want to read. The world is dark and scary enoughy without me adding to it
SIMPSON - O...good question!
Cissy - welcome back Hunt4Me2
Leanne Banks - Marilyn, snail spit is very very low. Think slime.
SIMPSON - Ain't that the truth Sherryl!!!
Beverly B - I think September 11th affected my life in every aspect, including my writing. It's made me very grateful for every good thing in my life and made her realize I shouldn't waste one minute on unimportant issues.

We'll be operating on protocol tonight, so if you have questions for any of our authors, just type ? and I'll call on you in turn.
SIMPSON - is it my turn yet?
O - What about "Married to a Delaney"
Leanne Banks - As for writing and 9/11, it was very difficult for me. But I wanted to create a comfort read during that time... which ended up being when I wrote Rancher In Her Stocking.
Cissy - Simpson has the next question (O in line)
SIMPSON - Nicole
SIMPSON - thank you Cissy
Cissy - now it is, Simpson - I had to great our newcomer
Nicole869 - hello everyone
Marilyn_Alabama - ?
O -
Leanne Banks - Hi Nicole!
Sherryl Woods - O, you're thinking of Marrying a Delacourt...from another of my series
SIMPSON - Ok, general question......for all of you.....Do you like your heros to be blonde, brown, black, or red hair??? And is it long or short???
O - sorry wrong D
Nicole869 - hello Leanne ... I wouldn't mind a rancher in my stocking this year
Cissy - Can readers answer too, Simpson? I like dark-haired heroes
SIMPSON - I like visuals.....
Sherryl Woods - My heroes tend to have dark hair. I have no notion why, though come to think of it a good many of the men in my life have had dark hair, too
SIMPSON - Everyone but you Cissy!
SIMPSON - LOL
SIMPSON - just kidding
Sherryl Woods - Maybe it's time for a change all around
Beverly B - I like my heroes to vary in physical description and have loved them all, redheads, blonds, brunettes, etc. And I've had heroes with military short hair and shoulder length hair. Whatever suits the particular man.
Leanne Banks - Nicole, here's wishing you a hunk in your stocking.
Cissy - No, Sherryl! You just keep right on writing those dark-haired men
SIMPSON - <hangs my head in shame>
Cissy - I'm with you on different hair lengths, Beverly
O - As long as they are sexy
Nicole869 - I don't care what color their hair is ... I like them all
Cissy - Hi Megan A Welcome everyone to our chat with Sherryl Woods, Beverly Barton and Leanne Banks! We're chatting tonight about their new anthology, SO THIS IS CHRISTMAS. We'll be operating on protocol tonight, so if you have questions for any of our authors, just type ? and I'll call on you in turn.
Megan A - Hi Everyone
Marilyn_Alabama - If Simpson doesn't behave, she'll have a chunk -- of coal -- in HER stocking
Cissy - O has the next question (Marilyn, O in line)
SIMPSON - I like long hair myself
Leanne Banks - I've written redheads and blonds, but tend more toward brunettes. Different hair lengths
Marilyn_Alabama - I've heard though that it's difficult to get a long-haired hero pictured on the cover
Sherryl Woods - Hi Megan
Leanne Banks - Hi Megan!
SIMPSON - Marilyn......how did you get involved?! LOL
O - Ok what is the order of Delcout books please
Beverly B - Hi, Megan.
Nicole869 - lol Thanks Leanne ... but I think my chances are pretty slim
O - Sheryl
SIMPSON - And I always get coal in my stocking!!!
SIMPSON - Megan
Marilyn_Alabama - Uhm......I guess I just jumped into the fracas
Sherryl Woods - Don't think I've ever tried for one whose hair was TOO long, but they haven't balked at the medium to long hair on mine
Cissy - lol, Marilyn
SIMPSON - lol,,,,
O - What are the oder of Delcourt Sheryl
Beverly B - No problem getting my heroes with long hair on the cover--actually one of my best covers was Gabriel Hawk's Lady and the hero had shoulder-length hair.
SIMPSON - ?
SIMPSON - <please Cissy>
Cissy - well, I guess...
SIMPSON - <doing the happy dance now.....>
Sherryl Woods - There were five Delacourt books...The Cowboy and the New Year's Baby, Dylan and the Baby doctor, The Pint-Sized secret, marrying a delacourt and The delacourt scandal
O - BOO i read them out of order
Cissy - Marilyn has the next question (O, Simpson in line)
Marilyn_Alabama - Again a question for all the authors: I know you all have busy writing schedules, but when time allows, what and who do YOU read?
Megan A - The Delacourt series was great
Sherryl Woods - Thanks megan
SIMPSON - Hey, I was gonna ask that question!!!
SIMPSON - LOL....great minds think alike Marilyn??? HMMMM
Beverly B - I read a lot for research. But for pleasure I read Linda Howard, Sandra Brown, Iris Johansen and Kay Hooper, to name only a few.
Leanne Banks - Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Sherryl Woods, Beverly Barton....Cindy Gerard, Cherry Adair
O -
Marilyn_Alabama - sorry simpson
Cissy - well now that you've convinced me to call on you again, Simpson, you just have to think of another one!
SIMPSON - It's all good!
Sherryl Woods - I'm all over the place. I've been on a Rosamunde Pilcher kick lately and just discovered Beth Gutcheon, both non-romance. Love Carla Neggers, Jayne Krentz and present company, of course
Marilyn_Alabama - oooo I love Linda Howard (another Alabamian <g>
Cissy - wow you all have good taste. You named most of my favorite writers
Marilyn_Alabama - my mother took a trip to Cornwall after she read Rosamunde Pilcher and that's where she met her gentleman friend
SIMPSON - Ok, Cissy...but you better be ready for it!
Cissy - O has the next question (Simpson, O in line)
Sherryl Woods - Marilyn...Good for her. I'd love to go over there after reading her books. Haven't been to Cornwall in a number of years
SIMPSON - Willie
Cissy - Welcome back, Willie
Megan A - Hi Willie
O - Ok Leanne and Beverly what kinds of books do you write?
Willie - Hi, everyone
SIMPSON - Trice
Cissy - O, you're in for a treat -- Leanne and Beverly write GREAT books
Marilyn_Alabama - ?
Megan A - Hi Trice
Mac - Hiya, Trice
Sherryl Woods - Hi, Willie and trice
Leanne Banks - Hi Willy and Trice!
mary f - Hello Trice
Sherryl Woods - Lots of laughs in Leanne's . . .and sex
Leanne Banks - I write fun sexy books.
Cissy - great description, Sherryl
Marilyn_Alabama - and Leanne is cranking it up a notch with her single title too
Beverly B - I tend to write high drama. My "The Protectors" series is about bodyguards who work for the Dundee Agency. I also write romantic suspense for Zebra--those are Southern melodramas. Lots of sex and steamy nights.
Cissy - and with Beverly we get great suspense/danger and sex
Leanne Banks - oops. WillIE
Marilyn_Alabama - I loved the suspense subplot in Faith Hope and Love
Cissy - Simpson has the next question (O, Marilyn in line)
Sherryl Woods - Notice I put the sex as an after-thought leanna, 'cause the relationship is what counts, right, ladies??
Marilyn_Alabama - Beverly -- we southern belles are full of steam, aren't we?
Leanne Banks - Beverly has written for both Silhouette Desire and Intimate Moments
O - Beverly do you have an accent
Beverly B - It wasn't easy incorporting a serial killer into a Christmas love story.
mary f - Right Sherryl!
SIMPSON - Ok, let's say I have this friend....and she's never read any of your books, but they sound good, do you recommend a certain title to start with to get that person hooked??? You know, my friend...um, can't remember her name right now...the same friend from the other night LOL
Leanne Banks - I agree Sherryl. Relationship is most important!
Marilyn_Alabama - I've read Beverly's "Three Babies for Three Brothers" series (or at least I think that was the title)
Marilyn_Alabama - but you did it beautifully Beverly, and it added so much to the story
Beverly B - Right, Marilyn--we're sexy, steamy gals down here in Alabama.
TriceCyn1 - Doctors on their way up to Mom's room....just poping in to say Hi to you all and the authors!!! I dead the book, STIC, and the stories are GREAT!!!! Sherryl...Love your books got all your books except The Molly DeWitt Mysteries and The Amanda Roberts Mysteries, all my books are ORG except maybe 2 Can't wait for Along Came Trouble next month!!! .... Leanne Banks - Thanks Trice!
Sherryl Woods - Thanks, trice. Hope your mom's doing okay
Marilyn_Alabama - man.....she DID pop in and out
Beverly B - Thanks, Sherryl.
SIMPSON - ok, question repeat.... Ok, let's say I have this friend....and she's never read any of your books, but they sound good, do you recommend a certain title to start with to get that person hooked??? You know, my friend...um, can't remember her name right now...the same friend from the other night LOL
Beverly B - I suggest reading one of my earlier "The Protectors" books.
Sherryl Woods - I'd say ABOUT THAT MAN, the first of the Trinity Harbor trilogy for MIRA. It has all the elements I love to write about .. family, small town, humor
SIMPSON - ?
Leanne Banks - I think I would recommend either EXPECTANT FATHER (Sil. Special Edition) or HIS MAJESTY, M.D. (Silhouette Desire).
SIMPSON - thanks...I'll be sure to go get them...I mean, to have my FREIND go get them!
SIMPSON -
Marilyn_Alabama - Simpson
Marilyn_Alabama - you ain't foolin' us
Cissy - O has the next question (Marilyn, Simpson in line)
O -
SIMPSON - <hangs head in shame over being obsessed with only a few authors>
Cissy - closing the question queue, ladies
O - What inspired all the authors to write did you hear voices
SIMPSON - YEAH, I GET THE LAST QUESTION!!! (and it's a good one!)
SIMPSON - LOL <O>....voices!!! I hear them all the time, yet I can't write a story!!! LOL
Megan A - Get Sherryl's books of the Adams family.
Sherryl Woods - I'm always hearing voices...something I've been advised never to tell a mental health professional
O - It better be Simpson
Leanne Banks - LOL Sherryl!
Cissy - don't Sherryl. They might fix you and we'd lose the books!
SIMPSON - LOL...funny!!!
Beverly B - I 've been a storyteller since childhood. Being a writer came to me as naturally as breathing. Since an early age, I've had stories going on inside my head.
Marilyn_Alabama - yeah.....we'd hate that
Sherryl Woods - Ah, yes, Grandpa Harlan was a dream...and all those sexy cowboys!!
Leanne Banks - I don't really hear voices... I think I wanted to see if I could write a book.
O - Did you keep a journal Beerly
Sherryl Woods - Cissy, I think it's too late to fix me.
Megan A - Yes for Grandpa Harlan
Cissy - oh good, Sherryl
Cissy - Marilyn has the next question (Simpson in line) the queue is closed
Beverly B - I kept a diary, but I wrote in pencil in a notebook. My first novel was a young girl's updated verison of Gone With the Wind.
SIMPSON - did they have hot monkey sex in your version Beverly?
Marilyn_Alabama - One more time for all three ladies -- Have you always been a writer (as a profession)? Or did you have another profession in a previous life?
O - do you still have it Berly
Marilyn_Alabama - down, Simpson! down
SIMPSON - Oh man...everybodys always trying to bring me down LOL
Leanne Banks - LOL Simpson!
Beverly B - Hey, Simpson, I was nine--I didn't know what sex was. Romance, yes, but not sex.
Sherryl Woods - I never, ever meant to write. I went into journalism to do graphic design and wound up writing a TV column for various newspaper. Then I worked at a major medical center in Miami. And then I l
Leanne Banks - Marilyn, I was a part-time sales rep, but I fear I'm ill-suited for normal employment.
Beverly B - O--I still have one diary. And I have some pages from that manuscript, plus several of my short stories.
SIMPSON - oh, then your forgiven! If my 7 yr old writes a story at 9 and it has sex in it I'm getting a gun!
Sherryl Woods - oops. Then I wound up with this amazing gig. Considering my first grade report card said i was deficient in storytelling, it's a hoot. I must be over compensating
SIMPSON - I'd go back and see your 1st grade teacher!!! That's teach her...or learn her...or something like that!
Willie - Have to sign off now, good night everyone
Marilyn_Alabama - maybe you're just better with your hands than your mouth
Leanne Banks - Beverly, what is the name of your current single title?
Marilyn_Alabama - uh oh....that didn't sound right
Cissy - Simpson has the last question
Cissy - lol, Marilyn
Beverly B - I was a full-time homemaker, which means a stay-at-home mother. I did substitute teach when the children were older.
SIMPSON - no it didn't did it Marilyn!!! LOL
Sherryl Woods - Yeah, ninety books later, i think i've made my point
Beverly B - Leanne, the current single title is ON HER GUARD.
SIMPSON - Ok, out of all of the books that you've written, which is your favorite??? (and do you prefer your men to wear boxers or briefs?)
mary f - I wonder if that teacher knows what you do now!
Marilyn_Alabama - it's a noble profession, Beverly. I've done it for the better part of 30 years
Beverly B - I wouldn't trade a minute of being super-mom.
Leanne Banks - Ohhhhh Simpson, that's like asking which of my babies is my favorite!
Marilyn_Alabama - Boxers or briefs?
SIMPSON - Yes, Beverly...it is!!! I'm just now trying my hand at working again!!!! It's been a long time since I've worked outside the home!
Cissy - Simpson!
Leanne Banks - And I think I prefer briefs.LOL
Marilyn_Alabama - twilight zone moment here Beverly -- my nick on a message board is Supermom
SIMPSON - Hey, you can tell alot about a person ....that way!
Cissy - but boxers are so sexy...
Beverly B - I love all my books--no favorites! And most of my heroes wear briefs, but a few were boxer men.
SIMPSON - I like none personally.....
SIMPSON - LOL
Marilyn_Alabama - then there are always those boxer-briefs
Mac - LOL
Leanne Banks - Simpson, I'm with you... I like none also.
SIMPSON - wb Sherryl!
Cissy - Sherryl, Beverly and Leanne, thank you all for a fun and raucous chat! SO THIS IS CHRISTMAS has gone onto my "must buy" list.

Leanne Banks - Thanks everyone! Thanks Cissy. Y'all were great!
Beverly B - O--Yes, ma'am, we all have accents.

deagling - Good Night Everyone
Marilyn_Alabama - They must have been from Boston and "pahked their cah in Hahvahd Yahd" if they thought you had a southern accent.
