MsMom - cute Kiki
LeeHyat-Moderator - what authors do you like to read?
Oliveria - Who are you fav authors?
Kiki - Natick, Mass. is only maybe a little over an hour away...
DeeDavis - they both have their difficulties. I think probably the time travels because they are also typically suspense so involve all of that plus the time travel element
DeeDavis - Linda Howard, Kay Hooper, Mary Stewart... hmmmm
Oliveria - Thanks KiKi i mgiht be able to go
DeeDavis - Mary Higgens Clark
DeeDavis - Suzanna Kearsley
Kiki - Yes Oliveria........we'll P A R T Y
DeeDavis - millions of others
purplefrog - What do you like best about writing? and least?
Oliveria -
DeeDavis - I love telling a story. Watching the characters grow and change. I hate promotion...I feel so silly
Kiki - Dee.......do tell them about another favorite author of yours.....you know, the new mom....*bg
MsMom - Dee was it hard writing in both past and present for The Promise
Oliveria - Why do you feel silly, isn't it nice to meet fans of your books
Kiki - Oliveria: Dee's a very warm and caring person.....she loves us fans.....
DeeDavis - good question. I actually did write sequentially too... But no...I think both stories were heading for the same conclusion so it wasn't that difficult. The hard part I suppose was trying to be sure that I did justice to both stories and that all the necessary information was in place for the joining
LeeHyat-Moderator - - from 152.163.201.179 on 1/12 at 9:29pm EST
DeeDavis - Ah yes... I love Julie Kenner...
Oliveria - Ok KiKI
redellen - - from 64.12.106.34 on 1/12 at 9:29pm EST
LeeHyat - logged on - from 152.163.201.179 on 1/12 at 9:29pm EST
DeeDavis - It's wonderful to meet fans -- the very best thing in the world, but to sell yourself is so nerve wracking I mean I wake up each morning and pinch myself to see if this is all a dream
Kiki - ME TOO........I love all Julia Kenner's books......and all Dee's!!
purplefrog - Julie is a sweetheart
LeeHyat - sorry, my screen froze
MsMom - wb Lee
Kiki - that she is............
DeeDavis - I think the most wonderful thing anyone has ever said to me beside "mommy" and "will you marry me" was "I stayed up all night to finish your book"
darkone has timed out.
LeeHyat - okay is it just me or is the room freezing everyone in their tracks?
LeeHyat - sigh.
MsMom - how about the check's in the mail I always liked that one lol
DeeDavis - I'm okay....
Oliveria - I know it is acting up Lee
LeeHyat - Dee, I stayed up all night for each one of your books <gg>
Kiki - Well Dee........let's be honest here.....it's pretty damn hard to put your books down you know! My hubby fends for himself when I'm engrossed in your books.....and he knows better than to try to get me to do anything else.
KatBos - Lee, it does seem to be lagging.
MsMom - i'm cool knock wood
KatBos - I've read Dee's books in one sitting!
Oliveria - So how many kids do you have
DeeDavis - Thanks guys...I'm serious there isn't a better compliment
DeeDavis - I have one daughter, she's nine
purplefrog - hello
DeeDavis - And a puppy who thinks I'm a mom
purplefrog - good i'm back it is acting weird
LeeHyat - Dee, aside from writing, what's the one other thing you value the most as far as accomplishments go?
Kiki - Kath........we each know this doesn't apply to ALL authors...but you and I have quite a few of the same FAVORITES....and things DO stop all around us when we read their books...
MsMom - i have a tribe so no for me
DeeDavis - gosh.... I think marrying my husband
Oliveria -
Kiki - awwwwwwwwwww isn't that romantic.......

Rosedust2 - Evening all.
DeeDavis - You know people always ask that and the answer is always the one I'm working on because I'm closet to those people... So right now Midnight Rain.
MsMom - hi Rose
LeeHyat - Hi RoseDust! Welcome to the Romance Cafe chat! Tonight we're chatting with prolific romance author Dee Davis about her new release THE PROMISE!! Please note there is No Protocol so find a comfy seat, put your legs up, grab a margarita and join in the fun whenever you're ready. Thanks!
DeeDavis - But I also have a fondness for Just Breathe
DeeDavis - Lee weren't you red recently?
Janice - logged on - from 12.246.12.157 on 1/12 at 9:36pm EST
TrailOfDreams - logged on. - from 64.12.107.47 on 1/12 at 9:36pm EST

Oliveria - Do you just write Time travel books?
KatBos - Dee, I think Just Breathe was my favorite and my second was Everything in it's Time.
Janice - Hey
DeeDavis - I have a little say in the covers....but not much... I've just had a wonderful group of artists
KatBos - Hey Janice, my partner in crime.
DeeDavis - I write contemporary romantic suspense and time travel
Kiki - I DO hope we see more of Irma and Thomas (and Charlotte)
MsMom - hey Janice and TrailofDreams
Janice -
TrailOfDreams - hi all
LeeHyat - Hi Trail! Welcome to the Romance Cafe chat! Tonight we're chatting with prolific romance author Dee Davis about her new release THE PROMISE!! Please note there is No Protocol so find a comfy seat, put your legs up, grab a margarita and join in the fun whenever you're ready. Thanks!
purplefrog - EIIT was such a big success with both the readers and critics, did that make it easier or harder to write the next book?
LeeHyat - Hi Janice! Welcome to the Romance Cafe chat! Tonight we're chatting with prolific romance author Dee Davis about her new release THE PROMISE!! Please note there is No Protocol so find a comfy seat, put your legs up, grab a margarita and join in the fun whenever you're ready. Thanks!
DeeDavis - My first and fourth were time travels.... second third, fifth (and sixth and seventh) are romantic suspense
Janice - Hi Lee
Kiki - I just can't pick a favorite........each one was so different from the other, but equally well written.....and those are two of my fave genres.,....so my favorite Dee book is the one not yet published I guess....
DeeDavis - Wow, thanks for the kind words about EIT, fortunately the next three were already written, so the die was cast
MsMom - Is there ever any presure on you when you are writing a book after the previous did well
Oliveria - Do you use your real name?
DeeDavis - I'd love to see Irma and Thomas again....so who knows... and Charlotte, well she's the type character to show up just about anywhere
Kiki - Glad to hear that, Dee.....you just made my day!
DeeDavis - Yes.. I think there's always pressure, but even more so if the previous one is deemed successful. You want to get better with every book, and that's a daunting task
DeeDavis - dee Davis is my real name.... my maiden one
DeeDavis - And more me I think, because i'm such a new writer, and that means I still have so much to learn
Oliveria - How many books have you written?
purplefrog - tell us something we would be surprised to know about you
MsMom - how long does it take you to write a book or is each one different

DeeDavis - I lobbied the US Congress
Kiki - Well I just gotta pipe in here.......there are authors who just put anything down on paper cuz they already have a "big" name and following....and each book is a big disappointment.....and there are those like yourself, who pour their hearts and souls into their books, and take longer to do so....but the end result is your efforts SHOW us how great a writer you are....
