Sara - so, Barbara, why don't you introduce yourself and tell us all about A GROOM IN HER STOCKING!! (I assume it is holiday theme not just any old stocking)
shellebelle - what is he holding in his other hand??
O - You have to bake us cookies and fudge Barara
Barbara Dunlop - Thanks, Sara.
GoddessFawn - @rod
Barbara Dunlop - I don't do fudge, but I make a mean chocolate truffle.
shellebelle - sure does r
O - Yum that sounds good
R C - Barbara
Barbara Dunlop - A Groom Ini Her Stocking is about a woman who gets stuck in a northern luxury lodge with a matchmaking "psychic" aunt who thinks...
shellebelle - I like goddess idea....lose the hat
Mac -
Barbara Dunlop - she's going to marry a lounge lizzard.
GoddessFawn - ahh right you all need cooling off. Take that.
Vivienne - ah, that is the Mac I know and love
Cissy - noo, not a lounge lizard!
Sara - a lounge lizzard? oh NO!!
Sara - a sinatra wannabe?
Sara - *shudder*
midnight_haven - hi wolves
Barbara Dunlop - Great chocolates!
Sara - or worse, an ELVIS wannatry
O - are they still around
Mac -
R C - Hi wolfie
wolves_cry - Heh. Hello.
O -
GoddessFawn - hi wolfie
shellebelle - wow, Nac brought the goodies
Mac -
Barbara Dunlop - Of course, the lounge lizzard is the wrong guy. The aunt says Robert. The lounge lizzard is Bobby and the hero is RJ. A wonderful bush pilot.
Sara - welcome to those joining us, for our December chat with the DUETS author Barbara Dunlop. We are on protocol, so type a ? to be put in the queue. I will tell you when to post your question.
shellebelle - sorry Mac
Mac - hehehehe, Nac....lol...kinda funny.
wolves_cry - hello, goddess
GoddessFawn - I'm eating peppermint patties myself
Mac - I've got //icecrean and , too
GoddessFawn - have one all
Mac - Oops...see, I did it, too. that's
Barbara Dunlop - Anything else I should say up front, Sara?
midnight_haven - //snowman
Sara - well, they all could be "right" for the name, I guess
midnight_haven - wb VIV
Sara - no, I think you have set us up nicely
Sara - O has the first question (no one in line)
GoddessFawn - That comes from trying to type too fast Shelle
Vivienne - re haven
R C - ??
O - What made you decide to wite. Did you hear voices
shellebelle - yeah not thinking too fast also
wolves_cry - hello, goddess
Barbara Dunlop - Voices? Uh, no... Are you a psychologist? <grin>. I've LOVED writing since I was a kid. I think I made my first attempt at a novel when I was 13. A romance, of course.
Vivienne - if the ?? was for "re" that is short for rehello
GoddessFawn - Ah ha wee all have butter fingers tonight
Barbara Dunlop - I see plots everywhere. If a dog crosses a street, I put him in a story.
O - Do you still have it
Barbara Dunlop - Happily, no. But my sister remembers the general plot.
GoddessFawn - or are they sticky from the candy?
O -
Sara - so, you just pick on EVERYONE, Barbara?
Sara - dogs, men, what have you?
Sara - I guess we can live with that...you make them FUNNY!
Sara - hi, Gerri
Barbara Dunlop - Well, uh, no... I mean the dog isn't the hero. But I happily give him a great hero owner.
Sara - welcome to our December chat with the DUETS author Barbara Dunlop. We are on protocol, so type a ? to be put in the queue. I will tell you when to post your question.
GoddessFawn - hi gerri
gerri - Hi everyone
Vivienne - O in in que behind Barbara, Fawn, Mac, Sara, RC . . .
Mac - Hi, Trice
GoddessFawn - hi trice
Sara - RC has the next question (Sara, O in line)
R C - What other books have you written Barb
Mac - Mac?
Mac - I don't ask question in here.
Barbara Dunlop - I think I write because my world is full of plots, and because I get a kick out of trying to make a sentence or a paragraph or a scene just right. And I'm willing to spend lots of time doing that.
Mac - questions...oops...forgot my s.
TriceCyn - Hi LAdies
Barbara Dunlop - A Groom I Her Stocking is my fourth book. I have two more coming up in April and August...
TriceCyn - and Gent...sorry Rod
R C - That's ok Trice
Barbara Dunlop - The Mountie Steals a Wife, Forever Jake, Next To Nothing...
GoddessFawn - Hi Margaret
gerri - Hi Trice
TriceCyn - good Rod
Sara - - from 4.62.89.156 on 12/19 at 7:50pm EST
Barbara Dunlop - And coming up are The Wish-List Wife and an untitled Temptation in August
TriceCyn - Hi Gerri
GoddessFawn - brb run
Barbara Dunlop - Three are Duets and three Temptations
Sara-Moderator - RC has the next question (Sara, O in line)
MargaretL - hi everyone
Mac - Howdy to all coming in
O - wow you are busy
Barbara Dunlop - I am definitley busy!
Sara-Moderator - hi, Rebecca. We are chatting with Barbara Dunlop about her new DUETS -- A GROOM IN HER STOCKING
Sara-Moderator - RC, do you have a question?
Barbara Dunlop - Sorry about the spelling!
Rebecca de Winter - Barbara? Can you tell me the elements of a Duet? How do they differ from a Harlequin Romance or a Superromance for instance?
R C - I already asked it but I can ask another if you want me too
GoddessFawn - That darn cat. Had to jump over him going to the potty
Sara-Moderator - oh, sorry, I missed it
Barbara Dunlop - Well, Duets are the comedy line. They normally have a light premise and characters who are a bit off the wall.
O - hey you have to get in line
Vivienne - - from 24.25.227.132 on 12/19 at 7:52pm EST
Sara-Moderator - Sara has the next question (O in line)
Rebecca de Winter - I'm sorry. How do I get in line?
Barbara Dunlop - Duets can be sweet or sexy, comedy is the central element
Sara-Moderator - How do you write across two lines -- funny and sexier? Do you put more sensuality in your Duets and fun in your Tempations or what?
GoddessFawn - i love romacen with comedy in it
Sara-Moderator - just type a ?, Rebecca
R C - Thats ok Rebecca, we forgive virgins
O - type ? Rebecca
Rebecca de Winter - Lol!
Barbara Dunlop - That's an interesting question, Sara. My editor once told me that my Duets are almost Temptations, and my Temptations are almost Duets...
Bewitched - Hey everyone
O - Oh a virgin Rebecca do you know what we do to them
Rebecca de Winter - ?
GoddessFawn - oh boy lots of virgins to pick on tonight
Barbara Dunlop - I like to write funny and sexy. But, I think the characters and the premise are different between the two lines. Duets have cute characters. Temptations have sassy characters.
TriceCyn - O it's ok Rebecca is new around here, we are always easy on the newbies...like we were with you!
Barbara Dunlop - And Duets tend to have a lighter premise than a Temptation. Temptations have a sexy slant.
Sara-Moderator - so, you differentiate "sassy" and "cute" that's interesting
R C - What, "O" is easy
O - RC wolves_cry has timed out.
Barbara Dunlop - Sassy is more of a kick-butt type. Where cute is funny in an endearing way. At least that's what I try to do.
Sara-Moderator - O has the next question (Rebecca in line)
GoddessFawn - They were great with me. course i didn't tell them i ws a virgin..
midnight_haven -
O - What do you want to write about that you han't before
R C - Hi three
midnight_haven - ?
GoddessFawn - hi three
Mac - Shoot, I've been here so long....let's not go there...LOL
Barbara Dunlop - I think I'd like to do a tougher heroine. I'm just starting to work on something with an undercover cop as a heroine. She's a blast!
Sara-Moderator - threeofdiamonds114, welcome to our December chat with the DUETS author Barbara Dunlop. We are on protocol, so type a ? to be put in the queue. I will tell you when to post your question.
O - That sounds good Barbara
Barbara Dunlop - I know I'm having fun with it. She's in big city Chicago impersonating a hooker.
Sara-Moderator - not tougher to eat, right, Barbara?
Sara-Moderator - it was a movie preview, I can't help it!
Barbara Dunlop - No. Not tougher to eat <grin>
Sara-Moderator - ah, good
Sara-Moderator - Rebecca has the next question (midnight_haven in line)
O -
Rebecca de Winter - Do you set any of your locales outside the US?
R C - Sara, she might me if she keeps her...ah, never mind
Barbara Dunlop - As a matter of fact, three of the books are set in the Yukon - Canada
Rebecca de Winter - That's sounds like a fascinating backdrop for a story. Just wondered.
GoddessFawn - @ rod
Barbara Dunlop - I'm there right now
Sara-Moderator - wait, Chicago isn't in the YUKON!!!
Sara-Moderator - are you trying to confuse me?
O - Is that where you live
Rebecca de Winter - Wow! It sounds so far away!
Barbara Dunlop - A Groom In Her Stocking is set in the Yukon wilderness. In a luxury lodge with hot tubs, etc. of course.
Sara-Moderator - oh, wait, I missed Rebecca's question I was still on the tough as a dog heroine who is pretending to be a hooker
Barbara Dunlop - The hooker is in Chicago. Me and Grooms are in the Yukon
Rebecca de Winter - I love that title, Barbara. Got to read it.
Barbara Dunlop - Yes. I live in the Yukon. Snow and bears. Lots of both!
Celeste - Hi everyone
GoddessFawn - ohhhhh putting book on list.(list is longer now)
Barbara Dunlop - Thanks, Rebecca
Ann K99 - Hi all
GoddessFawn - Hi Celste and Ann
R C - A Groom in her stocking, hmmm, is he a cross dresser
O - Ann
Barbara Dunlop - LOL! Sara
gerri - Hi Cel and ann
Ann K99 - to
Barbara Dunlop - It's a CHRISTMAS stocking. Gads. I have to keep telling people that <grin>
Ann K99 - have some
Ann K99 - hi gerri
Sara-Moderator - uh huh, right Barbara -- you keep telling us. Cause...
GoddessFawn - rod
midnight_haven - hi ann
Denise - ?
Ann K99 - hi Midnight
O - How does he fit in the stocking or just parts of him are in the stocking
Sara-Moderator - with these teasers you are giving us our imaginations are flying about this "HER stocking"
shellebelle - now if it were STOCKINGS that would be different
GoddessFawn - rod was just pulling your leg Barbara
Barbara Dunlop - A Groom In Her Stocking sounds rather riske if you don't know it's Christmas
Sara-Moderator - Midnight_haven has the next question (Denise in line)
shellebelle - what parts O ????
Barbara Dunlop - Hey, O, haven't you seen the cover/
O - Any parts that you want Shellebelle
Barbara Dunlop - ? They're both in there.
O - No i will
midnight_haven - in your eyes what makes a good book, good??
Sara-Moderator - well, shellebelle, he could have lost ONE stocking during some kind of raid! Uh huh, I can see this now!
MargaretL - when my nephew was a baby my sister bought a big christmas stocking and put him in it he was so cute
GoddessFawn - <======== sides are splitting with laughter
Barbara Dunlop - I love it when characters are fun and exciting and have great banter...
Rebecca de Winter - What a darling idea, Margaret!
shellebelle - me too LOL
midnight_haven - i hope its not a dumb question
R C - maybe they are crotchless stockings
Sara-Moderator - or if it REALLY is a Christmas stocking can we assume he is nekkid in there?
Barbara Dunlop - I don't much care where they are or what they're doing as long as their dialgoue bounces off each other in a fun way
Mac - The only dumb question is the one not asked.
shellebelle - I agree Sara he has to be naked
Cissy - lol, Sara
Barbara Dunlop - Cute, Margaret!
Sara-Moderator - now, stockings are normally without pants (crotch) Rod!!
Sara-Moderator - so, it wouldn't be hard to have one slip down
GoddessFawn - thump fell out of chair over rod's answer
Barbara Dunlop - Sara, you'll have to peek in and see.
shellebelle - thats crotchless underwear you are thinking of RC
midnight_haven - thanks MAC makes me feel better
Sara-Moderator - but a cute little / big HOLIDAY one, with a little fur at the top, and a "santa" nekkid with maybe just a santa hat. Yeah, I can see that, Barbara!!
midnight_haven - i also always wondered how people can write books i cant ive tried lol
R C - oh, she was wearing that too
Delyn - We didn't steal stockings on raids... what kind of raid did you go on, Sara?
Sara-Moderator - Midnight, that was a great question...you can do some more!!!
GoddessFawn - I have a pair of those shelle ooops
Barbara Dunlop - And--I hope this isn't a spoiler--but he does get naked in the story
shellebelle - LOL elyn
midnight_haven - i love reading books though.. that is something i can do
Sara-Moderator - Barbara's raid. Her next one has a Chicago cop impersonating a hooker
Sara-Moderator - it could happen!!!
midnight_haven - woohooo NEEKID
shellebelle - LOL goddess
Mac - Midnight, it's write the books or go crazy.
Cissy - hey midnight, they need readers as much as we need authors. It's an important job!
Sara-Moderator - Denise has the next question (no one in line)
midnight_haven - oh i can now?
Bewitched - - from 24.28.41.21 on 12/19 at 8:09pm EST
Denise - How do you feel about Duets becoming Flipside? Do you think you'll have more or less freedom with your humor?
cat person - hi everyone
O -
Sara-Moderator - now, Barbara, we were depending on you to get down the nekkid bits
Barbara Dunlop - The Chicago cop is a ways down the road. I'm just playing with the idea now. Though the next one does have a woman pretending to be a lesbian.
Sara-Moderator - hi Cat person
MargaretL - hi cat
TriceCyn - Hi to all I'm sure that i missed
Barbara Dunlop - I don't know all the details on Flipside--even if it will be called Flipside...
midnight_haven - how do you determine your plot, what is going to happen?
shellebelle - ROFLMAO Barbara
Barbara Dunlop - But as long as they let me keep doing humor, I'm a happy camper.
Sara-Moderator - those joining us, welcome to our December chat with the DUETS author Barbara Dunlop. We are on protocol, so type a ? to be put in the queue. I will tell you when to post your question.
midnight_haven - that sounds really interesting Barb
cat person - Happy Holidays
O - Wow you have quite an imimagation Barb
Sara-Moderator - what's a flipside?
Sara-Moderator - O has the next question (no one in line)
Rebecca de Winter - ?
Denise - thanks, Barbara. I'm not 100% sure either yet
R C - HOW does a woman pretend to be a lesbian? Sorry this male mind is //confused
midnight_haven - cat
Barbara Dunlop - I generally come up with a premise for the story, and then let the characters run with it a bit.
O - Do you have a website
midnight_haven - R C women can pretend
Barbara Dunlop - The heroine in The Wish-List Wife has decided she's through with men...
cat person - midnight
Barbara Dunlop - and if she tells everyone she's a lesbian, they'll leave her alone.
midnight_haven - bard i wish my library had one of your books i would get it

GoddessFawn - hi caffey
O -
Ann K99 - hey Caffey
Sara-Moderator - Rebecca has the next question (no onein line)
Caffey - Hi Denise

Caffey - Hi everyone!
Mac - LOL @ Rod
Barbara Dunlop - RC, uh huh....
Rebecca de Winter - Do you have a favorite Duet you've written? One you really loved writing?
