Cel - Hi Rebecca
Ann - Hi Diane
marissa - hi rebecca! hi DebOz
Cissy - Hi Rebecca! Welcome
Diane - Hi, I came on to talk to Rebecca.
marie84 - Hi Rebecca
Ann - Hi Rebecca!
marissa - hi robin!
marissa - hi robin!
Robin - and before you ask, the answer's yes, I did apply for it
Victoria - logged on. - 12/15 at 9:39pm EST
Rebecca Wade - Hello! Hello! Everyone. I'm tickled to be here. Thanks for having me!!
Cissy - LOL, Robin - that was scary!
Cel - Hi DebOz and Diane
marissa - hi Victoria!
Ann - LOL! Of course Marissa! Yes you are saying it right! I must be so that I am forgetting my own "rules of life".
Staceylee - Hi Rebecca Hi DebOz
Cel - Hi Victoria
Diane - Becky , how does it feel to have your book in the stores?
Staceylee - Hi Victoria
Ann - Hi DebOz & Victoria
marie84 - hi Victoria
Cissy - Hi Victoria!
Cel - Thank you Rebecca and Victoria for bing generous enough to come and chat with us.
Victoria - Hi all!!! I'm not late am I???
april - I was hoping to have the books read by tonight, but um I'm bad with deadlines.
Rebecca Wade - It feels amazing, Diane. The first day I saw it as a real, true book I held it in my hands for two hours, reading passages, generally ogling.
Robin - Cissy, I have that kind of timing with my mom all the time - shakes her up every time
april - I'm on page 68. hehehe I started it an hour ago though.
Rebecca Wade - Not to worry, April our books are still so newly out. And it's my genuine pleasure to come and chat with you, Cel. Thanks for being generous enough to have a newbie like me!
Cel - I have Rebecca's book on order from B&N (wasn't available in Wal*Mart) and unfortuntely Victoria's book is in my TBR pile.
Rebecca Wade - Nope, you're not late, Victoria. I was a smidgeon early.
Cissy - You're right on time, Victoria
Diane - I cant' get the book yet, but I've read the excerpt
Robin - Hello to Rebecca and Victoria. It's very nice to 'meet' you both
Victoria - Whatever you all want is fine with me.
marie84 - Too true Marissa but I think it makes reading the book a bit more personal having "talked" to the authors!
Rebecca Wade - Cissy, I think I'd prefer specific questions. It might be fun to get both Victoria's and my take.
marissa - that and Wed. is the chat nite that *everyone* tries to make. so there should be a good size crowd tonite
april - Why Wednesday?
Rebecca Wade - Nice to meet YOU Robin!
Cissy - Okay, guys let's start a modified protocol. Type ? to get in line to ask a question and I'll start calling on you!
Diane - ?
Ann - ? (I hate going first)
Rebecca Wade - Oh oh! Diane has a question. Yay, Diane!
Cissy - Diane, you're first followed by Ann
Diane - Becky and Victoria, how long did it take you to write your books?
Susanna - - 12/15 at 9:47pm EST
Rebecca Wade - DebOz, are you perchance the Deb I know?
Umina - logged on - 12/15 at 9:48pm EST
Staceylee - Hi Susanna
Cel - Hi Susanna and Umina
marie84 - hi Susanna
marissa - hi stacey and umina!
Diane - Oh, Deb!!! Hi Deb!!!
Susanna - Hey Ladies !
Staceylee - Hi Umina
marie84 - hi Umina
marissa - oops, and susanna!
Rebecca Wade - It took me about nine months to write An Unlikely Outlaw, then about two months of rewrites after it sold. Prior to that, my manuscripts took me a year each. Now I'm on a six month deadline. Eeek.
Ann - Hi Susanna & Umina
Cissy - Hi Susanna! - we're on modified protocol tonight
Rebecca Wade - Diane, are YOU perchance the Diane I slept beside at national conference?!
Cel - ?
Lisa M - logged on. - 12/15 at 9:49pm EST
Staceylee - Hi Marissa
marissa - hi lisa!
Cel - Hi Lisa M
Staceylee - Hi Lisa
marie84 - Hi Lisa M
Umina - Hi, Becky!
Lisa M - Hi all
Cissy - Ann, you're up followed by Cel (LOL, Victoria)
Ann - When you both had finished yur first mss, did you approach the publishers directly, or work through agents?
Rebecca Wade - Hi, Umina, and all the other ladies who just joined us! Th water's warm.
Victoria - It took about a month to do the revisions on WB and Paradise Bay (contemporary comedy) but I was doing them at the same time so it got a bit confusing.
Victoria - Whoops, I'm behind.
Umina - Hi, Becky. It's Lisa - yep, the one you know from Australia. Hi, everyone. My name's Lisa too.
Rebecca Wade - Ann, when I finished Outlaw, I submitted it to a smattering of agents, as I had done my previous manuscripts. None had the good grace or refined taste to wish to represent me. Wry smile. Sooo, I submitted directly to Avon - the first place I send Outlaw and Monique bought it. I procured an agent without much trouble after that.
Diane - Oh, Lisa!!! Hi, it's Diane
shy - - 12/15 at 9:53pm EST
Victoria - It took me 14 months to sell my first book--5 years ago next week! And I didn't have an agent at the time.
marissa - hi shy!!
marie84 - hi shy!
Ann - Hi Shy!!
Cissy - Hi shy! We're on modified protocol
Cel - Hi Shy
Victoria - Hi Shy!
Staceylee - Hi Shy
Rebecca Wade - Everyone some of these ladies, Diane, Umina (where'd you come up with that Lisa?) and DebOz are buddies of mine from an online group of writer friends. Thanks so much for coming and lending support, ya'll.
Diane - Since I've never chatted before I don't know what modified protocol means!
Umina - Hi, Diane. Thanks for the help getting on here. Becky, I bet you didn't have trouble after selling! How long did it take Avon to get back to you?
Cel - Rebecca, is AN UNLIKELY OUTLAW your first published book?
DebOz - Hi Beck, Di and Lisa
Umina - Umina Beach is where I live, Becky. I figured no-one else would use it! I'm glad I didn't miss it.
Lisa M - ?
Rebecca Wade - Umina, do you mean how long did it take to hear back from Avon after I submitted the manscript?
Victoria - Rebecca--you are much braver than I am!!! My friends would get on only to heckle so I never tell them about things like this!
Cissy - Oops, sorry Diane. Modified protocol means we're lining up to ask questions but not to post statements. So type ? to get in line for a question but if you just feel like blurting out something, go for it.
Ann - Usually when we chat, it's a free for all, when we have authors, we tyoe ? to show we have a question, and then Cissy calls on us and that way, everyone gets their question answered.
Cel - LOL Victoria
Rebecca Wade - Cel, An Unlikely Outlaw is indeed my first published book. So this is a NEW night for me. New to the world of publication, new to the chatting online thing, new new new.
marie84 - ?
Rebecca Wade - Victoria, I'm your friend. Can I heckle?
Victoria - No, no, not that!!!
marissa - LOL RW
Ann - We're very friendly Rebecca we've never had authors refuse to come back anyway.
Cel - I can really understand how excited you are then Rebecca, but I would imagine any new book would make you happy.
Lisa M - Victoria, I just finished The Wedding Bargain and I loved it my ? is that there were some really interesting characters in youur book, I was wondering if you were thinking of writing something about them ie. Gillian
marissa - good thing you qualified your statement ann. we know your halo isn't on straight
Rebecca Wade - Umina, I sent a query first. That was it! From that letter, she asked for the complete manuscript. Between when I submitted that and when I heard was about three months -- which is quick in the publishing world.
Diane - ?
Lisa M - sorry about that the board took my ? without my permission
Victoria - Lisa--yep. Gillian is the heroine of the book I just turned in December 1st.
Rebecca Wade - Right you are, Cel. I love each and every one of my books - those published and not - so the arrival of any of them on the shelves would be cause for rejoicing!
Cel - It was your turn anyway Lisa
marissa - ?
Umina - Pardon me, Victoria; I don't know your book. Who is it out with? Some titles aren't readily available in Australia.
Cel - Victoria, do you need Lisa M to repeat her question?
Victoria - The Wedding Bargain is an Avon release and just hit stores last week.
marie84 - Rebecca, what inspired you to write An Unlikely Outlaw? (I know its corny but I'd still like to know!)
april - ?
Lisa M - no cel, I got my answer, Thanks
DebOz - Becky - are you going to stick with Westerns for the foreseeable future?
marie84 - Same here in New Zealand Umina!
Diane - Victoria, I haven't had time to investigate the Wedding Bargain. Is it an historical like Becky's? What time period?
Umina - I've had that experience too, Becky - just not the quick acceptance. Another ? - do Avon use international settings for historicals? I've only read settings in America, France and England.
Rebecca Wade - Marie84, I was inspired to write Outlaw because of one, sole, itty, bitty idea. An outlaw's daughter. That character intrigued me, gnawed at me, wouldn't let me go, and basically demanded I write her story. Everything, including the hunky hero sprang from that one kernel of a starting point.
Victoria - Diane--Wedding Bargain is historical. 1818--Regency--set in England.
Diane - Oh, yippee! my favorite time period (sorry Becky)
Cel - Marissa, you are next followed by april.
Cissy - - 12/15 at 10:06pm EST
Umina - Thanks, Victoria. I know from Becky that things aren't so quick to come Down Under. It's a hassle at times. Do you know if it will be released here? Quite alot of Avons come here - it jsut takes time. sigh...
Diane - ?
Rebecca Wade - DebOz, yep I'm going to stick with Westerns. I didn't start out wanting to write them, but now that I am, I love them. They suit me in a lot of ways - they're more modern, more informal, with a lot of potential for adnventurous women and dangerous men.
Victoria - I hope so but I really have no idea. This is my first book for Avon.
marissa - Victoria, i'm just wondering if Leisure/Love Spell will be doing more of their Faery Tale series. And will you be writing more???
Staceylee - wb Cissy
marissa - wb cissy!
Robin - logged off. - 12/15 at 10:08pm EST
Rebecca Wade - Victoria has had several books published before now. She's a celebrity.
marie84 - wb cissy!
Cissy - Thanks
Victoria - Marissa--I'm sure they will. I have no idea if I will or not. Of course, I have no idea what's happening tomorrow.e
marie84 - ?
Victoria - Rebecca--Celebrity??? My 14 year old daughter is standing here laughing hysterically at that one.
DebOz - Oh dear - got to get back to work - now. Will check out the transcripts later. Bye everyone and Happy Christmas
Cissy - April, you're up next followed by Diane
april - Same to you, DebOz!
Rebecca Wade - And my husband is loitering over my shoulder, refusing to leave me alone for two seconds.
marissa - And i'm also gonna do a (small) plug - i'm a book reviewer, and I know Laura (the editor and webmistress) would love it if one or both of you were to drop by sometime. here's the addy: http://www.romancejournal.com
Cissy - Bye DebOz - come back soon
Victoria - Bye DebOz! Merry Christmas!!!
Rebecca Wade - Bye, Deb!!
Staceylee - Night Deb
marissa - bye deb! come again!
Cel - Bye DebOz
april - Okay. My question is kind of silly, and you must remember that I just started The Wedding Bargain and I'm on page 68, but here it is. Pandora (Dora) is described earlier as having black hair, and the picture on the back has the heroine as having light hair. Does she change hair color or is it just not quite right?
Rebecca Wade - Sure, Marissa. I love surfing the romance sites on the web. I'll definitely check out Romance Journal. Can I pay you to write a glowing review sometime??
marissa - you may not even have to pay me
Cel - That was very sneaky, Rebecca. LMAO
Victoria - Really annoying isn't it??? <sigh> I did mentione that her hair in the book and on the cover weren't quite the same. It was duly noted.
Umina - Bye, Deb! Talk soon! Did my question about settings come through? My 16-year old is nagging for her Internet time. I hate school holidays...
Rebecca Wade - Funny, Cel, I was LMAO at Marissa's cheeky comeback.
april - So, I' m not insane, that's comforting at least. Thanks.
Ann has timed out.
Cel - Bye Umina
Cissy - Diane, you're up next followed by marie84
Diane - What about writing historicals appeals to you both the most? Why not write contemporaries?Bye Deb!!!
marissa - the youngun' strikes again
Cel - Victoria, that answer sounds like *we'll take it under advisement* , but then nothing changes
Staceylee - Bye Umina
Lisa M - lol
marissa - that said, i gotta take off, it's time for dinner here on the west coast
Victoria - Bye Umina!
Susanna - Bye Umina
Lisa M - bye
Diane - Umina! No, don't go!!!
Cissy - bye marissa, bye Umina
Cel - Night Marissa
0.6 has timed out.
Staceylee - Bye Marissa
Victoria - Cel--pretty much. I really love the cover though! Especially the front.
Victoria - Okay--why does that little smirking face keep showing up??? What am I doing???
marissa - logged off. - 12/15 at 10:17pm EST
april - I love the cover... the flowers remind me of the ones I had at my wedding. Very pretty and I um buy books from their covers, very shallow.
Cissy - we had a 0.6?
Umina - Sorry, diane - Katie, my daughter, has won with sheer nagging ability. I'll check in later. Congratulations to Becky and Victoria. And LMAO with the devil child sign. How do you make those? Thanks for the answer, Becky. My heroine's American. Would that make a difference?
Robin has timed out.
Lisa M - what is a 0.6
Lisa M - what is a 0.6
Rebecca Wade - Diane, I write historicals because that's what I most love to read. Something about being swept away into a different time period... it's just so (for lack of a better word) romantic to me. Plus, it my time period I get to write COWBOYS. I luv cowboys. Mine always wear low-slung gun belts and stetsons.
Victoria - April--it's not nearly as shallow as voting for people who are good looking!
Umina - logged off. - 12/15 at 10:18pm EST
Diane - I prefer Hessians, but I'll LOVE your hero
Cissy - I don't know, Lisa. But it just "timed out" lol
marie84 - Victoria, having published a number of books, does the writing get any easier?
april - OH, great! Because I don't hold a lot of stock in looks so that makes me a step higher... LOL
Lisa M - lol
april - Oh, if writing gets easier after publishing, I'm going to try to get one published! hehehe
Victoria - Diane--my first contemporary came out in Octopber--Paradise Bay. I loved writing it!!! Nobody seems to be buying it though . . .
Cel - ?
DebOz has timed out.
Cissy - marie84, your question is next - no one else is in line
Diane - I'll look for it, Victoria
Cissy - except Cel
Victoria - Marie--it gets harder. Each book is tougher than the last. Sorry.
Cissy - ?
Rebecca Wade - Ohhhh, Victoria. Each book is tougher? Really? <<sob>>
Cel - Victoria, was PARADISE BY release this October and was it an Avon book?
Diane - Nasty thing to say!
Victoria - Thanks Diane. It's romantic comedy and partially takes place on an island in the South Pacific on the International Dateline just in time for New Year's Eve.
Cel - please excuse the typos
Victoria - Cel--PB was a Leisure Love Spell release.
Robin - logged on - 12/15 at 10:23pm EST
april - Oh, it sounds good! I love island stories.
Rebecca Wade - Not to worry about typos, Cel. I've been making my share tonight, in my haste and enthusiasm.
Cissy - wb Robin
marie84 - brb.
Cel - wb Robin
Victoria - Rebecca--sorry. <sigh> I wish it got easier. But I think it's supposed to get harder.
Staceylee - wb Robin
Cissy - Victoria, can you give us a bit of the plot of Paradise Bay? You've got a bunch of eager buyers here
Rebecca Wade - Hi Robin! And HOW do you feel it get's harder. I know, I know -- heckling. But I'm really curious.
Cel - I think the Avon Ladies web site has been a great promotional area for books. I'm ashamed to say I hadn't even heard about your Leisure release, Victoria.
Diane - ?
Rebecca Wade - I'll second your opinion of the Avon Ladies site, Cel. It's absolutely terrific. I often check my stats on my counter - and probably 90% of the people who visit link to me from the Avon Ladies. Not only that, but they are incredibly wonderful, smart, kind and funny women.
Victoria - All right!!! <g> Paradise Bay is about a woman who has her life pretty much planned out for her until she meets a great looking computer nerd who isn't at all what she thinks he is.
Reed - logged on - 12/15 at 10:27pm EST
Rebecca Wade - Welcome, Reed!
Staceylee - Hi Reed
Victoria - Cel--it did kind of seem to slide right by.
Cissy - Ooh, a great-looking computer nerd. That's my dream man! *eg*
Rebecca Wade - ?
Reed - hi everyone
Victoria - Which is really depressing because I'd love to write contemporaries as well as historicals.
Cissy - Diane, you're up followed by
Cel - Hi Reed
Cissy - by Rebecca
Victoria - Rebecca--I think the plots and the people get more complicated and deeper.
Lisa M - zGHX
Cissy - Welcome, Reed. We're doing a modified protocol tonight, so type ? to get in line to ask a question. You don't have to line up to post statements
Lisa M - ok, my comp is possessed
Diane - Okay, Becky, your heroine is a feisty sort. Is she based on anyone you know?????
Cel - LOL Lisa - didn't you have trouble the other night also?
Lisa M - yea, and I thought I fixed it, don't know what I was thinking
Rebecca Wade - Diane, you're right. My heroine is the VERY fiesty sort. She's actually....shhhhh.... me. Don't tell anyone, because I pretend to be upstanding and normal and all. But Jasmine Jamison is a part of me. The part that says and does outrageous, daring, passionate, wonderful things.
Cissy - Oh, I love it when writers admit their heroines are big parts of themselves
Robin - I'm going to say goodnight. Webtv is soooo slow tonight that I'm missing more than half of the chat. Rebecca & Victoria, thanks very much for sharing your time and insights with us. Happy Holidays everyone
april - Good night!
Victoria - My heroines tend to be who I want to be--clever, pretty and gutsy.
Diane - yI live vicariously, too. I'm really very quiet and she
Cel - Night Robin and I'll be chatting with you from the wilds of Arizona next.
Victoria - Night, Robin!
Lisa M - bye Robin
Staceylee - Night Robin . I'm going to go too. I have to get up at 3:30
shy - Night Robin!
Reed - nite Robin
marie84 - Night, Robin
Rebecca Wade - I love fiesty, too, April and I MOST love to live vicariously through my heroines. That's why I don't write pale, hand-wringing, noble sorts of women. I don't want to be them. I want to be the larger than life character who spins six-shooters on her fingers and wears men's britches.
Diane - good grief. I'm possessed too!!! Can't type
Cissy - Night Robin & Stacey
Robin - logged off. - 12/15 at 10:35pm EST
Lisa M - lol, glad I'm not the only one
Cel - Night Stacey
Victoria - Night Stacey!
Staceylee - Night Everyone
shy - Night Stacey
marie84 - nite Stacey!
Camby - logged on - 12/15 at 10:35pm EST
Cel - Hi Camby
marie84 - Hi Camby!
Reed - Camby, hi
Camby - Hi all Finally made it!
Cissy - Hi Camby! We're on modified protocol tonight. ? to line up for a question, but post at will.
Rebecca Wade - Okay, my question is this. What are some of your favorite Western books? And why? Lorraine Heath's "Texas" trilogy rank as my tops - why? Because they're deeply emotional, touching, and downright beautiful literature.
Victoria - Hi camby
Susanna - Hey Camby !
Staceylee - logged off. - 12/15 at 10:37pm EST
Camby - ?
Cissy - Regular Joe Schmoe protocol is ? to line up for a question ! to line up to post a statement
Camby - Ahhhh. 'k!
april - I haven't read An Unlikely Outlaw yet though!
Susanna - I hope I'm not out of line - but is Rebecca question directed at the room?
Lisa M - I agree April, I read that series over and over
Rebecca Wade - Oh, heavens yes!! April. Elizabeth Lowell's series was dyamite. Sexy, sexy, sexy and sooo gripping. Which remind me, I still have the last book in that group waiting to be read. Been saving it.
april - Mine is falling apart! LOL
Victoria - I'll confess too--I'm not a big Western reader. But I loved Maverick and I did write a funny western and I'd like to write more.
Cel - I thought Rebecca's question was aimed at Victoria.
april - My favorite is Wolfe and Jessi's, but I read them out of order.
Cissy - I really loved EL's ONLY series too. Love those books where the men are men and the sheep are ner... Oh wait, that's something else
Camby - Sadly enough, Outlaw is on my semmingly endless list of books that I can't find!
Rebecca Wade - Yes, Susanna, my question is directed at any and everyone.
Susanna - Okay - I've been working during the chat and I wasn't sure
Rebecca Wade - I think my favorite Only book is still the first one, about Willow. But Wolfe was a cloooooose second!
Cel - This is for both Victoria and Rebecca: IF you ever get a chance to read, what are some of your favorite authors/genres?.
erblue has timed out.
marie84 - I haven't managed to complete EL's Only series as not all of them are available in bookstores here! Can you imagine
Susanna - I've only read a few Western romances so I'm not qualified to respond for the most part
Rebecca Wade - No, Marie! Can't imagine. Are they still in print/available at Amazon?
april - The EL books were just rereleased with new covers a few years back.
marie84 - I believe they are but the costs for postage is pretty prohibitive as they don't have an outlet here, Rebecca!
Diane - CAmby are you in Washington, DC? I've been looking almost every day and haven't found it yet!!!
april - I'm in DC.
april - I found it in my Dalton, planned on buying it this weekend.
Rebecca Wade - Cel, I tend to read across the board because I like to keep it fresh and varied. But some of my favorite authors are Maggie Osborne (have you read HER excellent Westerns?), SEP, Heath, Rachel Gibson, Judith Ivory, Theresa Medeiros, etc.
Camby - Yes Diane. Border's on L Street was out.
Cel - I ordered An Unlikely Outlaw (plus several other December books) from B&N - got free shipping.
Diane - Borders in Fairfax hadn't received it as of last weekend. Crown in Fairfax didn't have it either
Cel - I will have to try Maggie Osborne, but I read all the other authors you mentioned.
april - Really? Huh. I'm in Arlington and they had it.
marie84 - Cel, Do you they also ship for free overseas?
april - Crown always takes forever to get books in though.
april - Sorry, double post! I'm an idiot.
Diane - Oh, yes, I forgot. Becky told me to read Maggie Osborne. What an author she is!
Camby - Scribner's at Pentagon City didn't have it. I think I'll make the trip to Supercrown in Dupont Circle tomorrow to see if they have it.
Cissy - Camby, you're up next (unless that was your question)
Rebecca Wade - Marie84, sorry about the high costs of postage! I relate. I lived overseas for four years.
Susanna - I'm going to say good night. I want to thank you both Rebecca & Victoria for coming. I'm looking forward to reading your books.
april - No, the one at Ballston.
Cel - Marie, the B&N site I use won't ship overseas, unless it's an APO, FPO (military I think).
Camby - Nope. My question is for Victoria.
Cissy - Night, Susanna
Victoria - Nite!
Rebecca Wade - I'll post this for Victoria, because she accidentally sent it to me: Cel--tough question. I love Christina Dodd, Betina Krahan, SEP, Mariah Stewart, Gail Eastwood and so many others I can't even think of them all. I seem to be reading a lot of non-fiction right now.
marie84 - Darn! I guess I'll have to sweet-talk my rellies in the US to send them to me as Xmas pressies!
Reed - nite Susanna
Cel - Night Victoria and thank you so much for chatting with us.
marie84 - nite Susanna
Rebecca Wade - G'nite Susanna! Thanks for coming.
Camby - Victoria, I admit I'm not a huge fan of time-travel, but I'm a sucker for Arthurian Legend. How did you research Believe? (Hope I got this right, or I'm gonna be really embarrassed! LOL)
marie84 - Nite Victoria!
Cel - Victoria, were you saying good night to some other chatter?
Victoria - Cel--attempting to. <G>
Lisa M - I hope not
Lisa M - I hope not
marie84 - No Victoria, I thought you were saying night already!
Cel - NO, NO, NO - I just saw your post that said Nite! and thought you were leaving. *hanging my head in shame*
Shar - logged on - 12/15 at 10:51pm EST
Cissy - LOL, Victoria - don't let the door hit you in the butt, huh? Don't worry, we're not kicking you out.
marie84 - Hi Shar
Victoria - Camby--You're right. <G> I read a ton of various versions of the Arthurian legends and realized I could almost do what I wanted with it.
Shar - Hello, everyone
Cel - Hi Sharon
Camby - Hi Shar
shy - Hi Sharon
Lisa M - Hi
Victoria - Whew! What a relief. <G>
Cissy - Hi Shar, we're doing modified protocol tonight - type ? to line up for a question (but no one else is line right now)
april - I have a question... oh, wait... ?
april - I talk too much... sorry. LOL
Cissy - LOL. Um, april you're up next
Camby - BELIEVE is such a witty book too! It resides on my keeper shelf. 2nd shelf to be precise. LOL
Shar - Has Robin been here tonight?
Diane - ?
Shar - ?
marie84 - Yes she was here earlier, Shar.
Cissy - Yep, Shar. Twice
Cel - Yes Sharon, but she had to call it a night - trouble with WebTV.r
Rebecca Wade - logged on - 12/15 at 10:54pm EST
april - I love the mythology aspect in The Wedding Bargain. It is entirely too clever! Is this an interest or was it hard to find "contemporary" (contemporary being 1818) versions of the labors of Hercules?
Cel - wb Rebecca
Rebecca Wade - Ooops - think my computer booted me off there for a second. Back in the saddle.
Victoria - Thanks, Camby. I've always wanted to do a medieval but the more I reseacrhed the more I realized I just didn't get it. But I could send back a character who didn't get it either.
gerri - logged on. - 12/15 at 10:55pm EST
april - Sidenote: I might even get my mother to read this book... my mother loves to read, but NOT a big fan of romances. I have NO idea why not.
Shar - Does anyone have her email addy? I wanted to tell her thank you for the books.
marie84 - wb Rebecca, hi gerri
gerri - Hello everyone
Cel - Hi Gerri
Camby - And boy didn't she ever Victoria! LOL Tessa and Merlin's exchanges had ME shaking my head at times.
Reed - hi gerri
Lisa M - Hi Gerry
Camby - Hi gerri
marie84 - I agree with you, april. My mother keeps asking me why I keep buying romance books and keeping them!
Rebecca Wade - Welcome, Gerri!
Lisa M - I work w/ nothing but guys, you cant imagine the razzing I get for readiing romance
april - I could care less what people think, they obviously haven't read one!
Cissy - As soon as Victoria answer's April's, Diane
Victoria - or hero as heor is somethings called
Cissy - Like now. Diane, you're up followed by Shar
marie84 - Too true, April. And they just don't know what they're missing!
Diane - Somethings called?
Diane - Okay. Becky and Victoria. What are your NEXT books and when will they be coming out?
Camby - LOL april
marie84 - November 2000 yet? why so long?
Lisa M - ?
Cissy - LOL, Rebecca! I like the sound of that
Victoria - Diane--the next book is THE HUSBAND LIST and comes out in August. Shar--PARADISE BAY (contemporary), THE EMPEROR'S NEW CLOTHES (Western), THE PRINCESS AND THE PEA (Victorian), THE PERFECT WIFE (Regency/adventure) and my first was YESTERDAY & FOREVER (time travel) plus 3 novellas.
Cissy - Lisa, you're up. (No one else in line)
Diane - Victoria, you must be a very eclectic writer!!!
april - One a year isn't too bad.
Rebecca Wade - Victoria, what a list!! See! She's a celeb. Told ya.
Camby - A Wanted Woman.... yeah, that wouldn't be such a bad title to hold. LOL
Diane - ?
Cel - I think we have gotten use to one book a year from most authors, but do get a little spoiled by the prolific Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb.
Cissy - Lisa, you're up followed by Diane
Rebecca Wade - Nope, it wouldn't be a bad one to hold atall. And going on our author is the heroine philosophy...
Lisa M - Victoria is the Husband List the one w/
april - Oh, Nora Roberts must be on crack though... how does she pump them out so fast?
Shar - Night everyone. I have to do a lot of sewing before tomorrow.
Reed - nite Shar

Lisa M - wow,, I could definately handle that
Victoria - Well, I have a ton of things to do but this is legitimate and not just playing around so I'll hang in for a while. <G>
Rebecca Wade - I've got a booksigning party tomorrow night and oodles of preparations to do for that, so I'd better go. Reluctantly, though! I have adored talking to each of you. Thanks SO much for having me and for being romance readers! I'll definitely come back again soon to chat. Good night and sleep tight.
april - I'm going to bed (well, I'm going to read more) but it was nice chatting with all of you and "meeting" Ms.Wade and Ms.Alexander. I'll definitely be looking for more of your work this weekend on my weekly trip to the bookstore.
