DREAMING OF YOU
Dixie Kane

Zebra Books
December 2002

To end a century old curse, a French Quarter ghost plays cupid. His ghostly shenanigans bring together Magnolia Mayfair and her New York landlord, in New Orleans incognito to find out why his French Quarter building is not selling. His real estate agent tells him his tenants--a maskmaker, a psychic, a female impersonator and a retired history professor--are sabotaging the sale by haunting the building. They are, but when the real ghost decides to take a hand the tenants are as bumfuzzled as their landlord.

Dixie Kane - The ghost in my book died of pneumonia--No, Sara
Cissy - BadBarb has the next question (Sara in line)
BadBarb - Dixie, this sounds like a fun book, are you planning anymore set in the French Quarter?
Dixie Kane - Our spiral staircase was the model for the one in the book, however
O -
Sara - ah, good, Dixie, didn't want you to shock your sister....although I did enjoy Nick's fantasy of the venus rising from the trapdoor
Dixie Kane - Probably. It's a neat place

BadBarb - wow
BadBarb - how much snow caffey?
O - So is Nick a slum landlord?
Dixie Kane - Can we tell them about the missing condoms?
BadBarb - why not Sara? Is it a hard subject?
Dixie Kane - Nick is an absentee landlord--he lives in New York
Caffey - lol Sara
Cissy - oh yes, tell about the missing condoms!
RobinDOwens -
BadBarb - ooh missing condoms?
Sara - rising object but not doughy
Dixie Kane - But the Quarter is not a slum
Caffey - Barb
Dixie Kane - The ghost moved them
Sara - Nick is not a slum guy, he inherits the building from his grand pere
Cissy - it's an old-fashioned ghost?
RobinDOwens - Now that's major interference!
O -
Mary f - I have to get this book!
BadBarb - Sara, is it bigger then a breadstick?
sha - I'm having a hard time following this conversation

Sara - desperate, humpf! he just enjoyed making trouble!
RobinDOwens - Wow. Sometimes it pays to be single.
Delyn - Is Chasing Lily a sequel to Dreaming of You or just the next book that you are working on?
Dixie Kane - Well, it's boring being a ghost
SIMPSON - yes, sometimes it does Robin!!! LOL
O - Are the books connected
RobinDOwens - Simpson, check out the Writerspace contests.
Dixie Kane - Chasing Lily is finished--the cover is on my website. I'm working on Making Merry
sha - Dixie ,I love your writting because of your sense of humor.
SIMPSON - that I did already Robin...thanks though!!!
Dixie Kane - The books are not connected
Caffey - I got to check out the cover of CHASING LILY!
Cissy - Delyn has the next question (BadBarb, O in line)
Dixie Kane - That's what connects the books, Sha--they're all funny, or supposed to be.
Delyn - Sorry, I don't know what happened there... was all queued up for my question and when the screen automatically refreshed... There it was.
RobinDOwens - to Dixie! I see you every day on my fridge.
RobinDOwens - Got the RITA Finalists poster.
Dixie Kane - Robin--How do you do that?
Delyn - My question was: Is Chasing Lily a sequel to DOY, or the next book that you have coming out?
Caffey - you got a magnet of the book cover Robin?
Sara - well, I laughed, Dixie. Unfortunately while dh was driving on the interestate -- 12 lanes of traffic -- he was bemused!
O - what is she doing on your fridge Robin?
Dixie Kane - Linda Kay was the Rita Finalist, not Dixie. I hope Dixie follows in her footsteps
RobinDOwens - LOL
Dixie Kane - Delyn-- Chasing Lily isn't a sequel. It's a Little Red Riding Hood story
RobinDOwens - Whew, Sara!
SIMPSON - ?
Dixie Kane - I was Linda Kay before I was Dixie Kane. Before that I was Linda Lewis. Too many names!
RobinDOwens - You type fast Dixie!
sha - I'll read your books no matter what name you write under or what awards you win. I've never been let down by your stories yet.
Cissy - BadBarb has the next question (O, Simpson in line)
Delyn - That is a teasing post if I ever saw one... A Little Red Riding Hood story that goes from Alabama to California and back. You've learned you teasing lessons well.
Dixie Kane - I've written five books in three years
Sara - He told me to get out of the car to go into Frye's (computer / electronics place) that the book would still be there when we were done. I wan't sure, since Antoine had just swipped the condoms and he had a habit by this time of moving stuff. I NEEDED to finish the story!
