LeeHyat - Hi Isabel! Welcome to the Romance Cafe chat!

HeatherMac - Hey Isabel!
Cara Summers - In my book, the heroine, Chelsea Brockway doesn't believe in the skirt. She just wants to use it to get a monthly column on a magazine. Then men all over Manhattan start to fall at her feet, including s group of cub scouts skating at Rockefeller Plaza. Her boos falls for her too, of course, but he also wants to fire her!
IsabelSharpe - Thanks! Hello all.
LeeHyat - welcome back, Rose!
Sabrina Moses -
Isabel!!!
Rosedust2 - Sorry. Got the big boot.
HeatherMac - I think it's called "Single in the City" because each book is set in a city.
IsabelSharpe - Hi Sabrina!
LeeHyat - I know it's a bit early to ask, Rose, honey, but have you been cheating on my margaritas behind my back?
Barbs - logged on - from 64.12.101.172 on 12/1 at 9:01pm EST

KGabriel - My book, Seduced In Seattle is third in the series. My heroine, Kate Talavera, thinks the mercenary hero wants her, but he's really after the skirt.

IsabelSharpe - All three of you: How much did you have to collaborate on the series?
HeatherMac - I've been reading a lot lately. I just finished a book by a British author --Robin Sisley? I don't know if that's right, but it was a funny one.
Sabrina Moses - Did the three of you brainstorm together or was the editor engineered???
Rosedust2 - I really need a good snort. Sold my house today and I don't want to go. BOO HOO
Striplin - shoot - husband playing a stinkin' computer game - did i miss anything?
Sabrina Moses - Isabel, GMTA
HeatherMac - We brainstormed.

Rosedust2 - Lee. Make it a double.
CCaro - Hi Rose. Why are you moving??
Rosedust2 - Thanks Bea, but you gotta move on sometimes.
CCaro - Definitely calls for a mud slide. Yummy!!
HeatherMac - These books happen sequentially--Dec, Jan, and Feb. We feature the appropriate holidays.
IsabelSharpe - Heather--very cool!
LeeHyat - lol, will do, Rose!
Rosedust2 - Moveing to a smaller town with a bigger house and more yard work.
IsabelSharpe - Are you guys going to make a skirt and model it?
CCaro - Have the authors already given a description of their novels???
Shauna - What would y'all say distinguishes Temptation from the Desire line?
LeeHyat - Kristin, how soon will we be able to see the cover for your book? The other two - for Cara and Kristin's books are soo sexy! I love them.
Sabrina Moses - Yes, it sounds like a cool series, Ladies
Cara Summers - Isabel, the books take place in three consecutive months -- December, January, and February. We have to cooridante carefully to see that the skirt got passed along to the next heroine.
CCaro - Did I miss it???
LeeHyat - lol, good idea Isabel!
HeatherMac - I thought bigger house=more housework.
KGabriel - Housework? What's housework?
Rosedust2 - Cara. Is this a REAL skirt? Where do you buy one?
Striplin -

Shauna - Where did the idea come from for the series?
HeatherMac - I've got two sons and a husband currently watching an eBay auction for me
CCaro - Keith has a bad habit of taking his socks off in the living room, rolling them into a ball and throwing them at me when I am here at the computer! <G>
HeatherMac - Cara's idea.
KGabriel - I married a farmer and have a son and two daughters.
Sabrina Moses - Marrie d-yes Kids-no (by choice)
Mad - did we freeze?
CCaro - I have a hubby, two kids, three dogs, a snake and six hermit crabs!!!!
Oliveria - What are you buying on eBay?
Wild Woman - logged on - from 198.81.16.189 on 12/1 at 9:13pm EST
LeeHyat - lol, CCaro! I feel for you!
Sabrina Moses - I don't think so, Mad
LeeHyat - about the stinky socks! i mean.
Cara Summers - I got the idea when I was sitting in the dentist's office reading a Redbook magazine over a year ago. This woman was writing about a skirt she wore in college. Whenever she wore it, men hit on her. I thought what an idea for a Temptation!
HeatherMac - I collect vintage costume jewelry and I'm after a bracelet that matches a pendant and earrings I've already got.
Sabrina Moses -
Wildwoman Welcome
LeeHyat - Hi Wild Woman! Welcome to the Romance Cafe chat!

CCaro - Actually, the snake is my sons's. It is a California King snake that has a NASTY disposition. Hate the thing!
Rosedust2 - I'll be glad when I get some grandkids to play with
IsabelSharpe - Were there any overlapping characters besides the heroines in the three books, and did you find that difficult with 3 different author voices?
Spite - logged on. - from 142.166.90.235 on 12/1 at 9:14pm EST
LeeHyat - ugh, i could never live with a snake in the house!
Wild Woman - Hi, all.
Cara Summers - I've seen Heather's vintage jewelry. It's to die for!
LeeHyat - Hi Spite! Welcome to the Romance Cafe chat!
Tonight we're chatting with romance authors Kristin Gabriel, Cara Summers and Heather MacAllister about their new Harlequin Temptation mini-series, "Single in the City"! Rosedust2 - Hi spite
KGabriel - There aren't overlapping characters in these three, but there will be in the next three.
Spite - sorry to be late
Rosedust2 - Hi Wildwoman
HeatherMac - We traded prologues and epilogues.
tami - HI wild woman
LeeHyat - Ooh I love old jewelry too!
Shauna - Kristin- What are the next 3?
IsabelSharpe - Kristin, can you spill who the character(s) is/are?
Sabrina Moses - Great stuff, Heather? Silver or gold?
Wild Woman - Lee, as long as they're nonpoisonious, I have no problem w/them, just don't find them cuddley.
LeeHyat - I used to have a jewlery business in another life. it was great fun!
Spite - old jewellery???? That has my attention...say more Lee Hyat...
CCaro - Lee, I keep dropping hints to my son that the snake is going to be gone once it gets bigger. This thing is so darn nasty. It hisses at you and bites, too. Totally freaked me out when it bit my finger.
HeatherMac - Fake. Large. Shiny. Gaudy. Glitzy.
Sabrina Moses - Are these more skirt stories?
Spite - Wild Woman..what don't you find cuddly?
LeeHyat - Wild Woman, you are one brave chick! <g>
IsabelSharpe - Heather, do you mean the epilogue for one book became the prologue for the next?
Sister Carole has timed out.
Rosedust2 - I have some wonderful pieces of old jewelry. Still looking
Wild Woman - Snakes
CCaro - My son's California King snake, Spite.
Spite - I love the skirts on the covers of these books! Very TRAMAUTIC i would imagine for a man...lol
Sabrina Moses - I used to be in the jewelry biz too, Lee
CCaro - Hey, is Chessie still here????
KGabriel - Yes, these are more skirt stories, but with a different twist.
Spite - omg...and how old is your son???? A Snake?? I'd be in another room with the door locked...lol
Chessie - Sorry guys, I've been lurking. Hi Caro
Oliveria - I live in Rhode Island where do you all live
Sabrina Moses - Twist??? Do tell
Cara Summers - Yes, the skirt lives on in the next three books and they will take place simultaneously in New York City.
IsabelSharpe - Kristin, can you tell us what the twist is, or is it a secret?
KGabriel - Nebraska
Rosedust2 - Tell me more about that skirt please. Is it a one owner????
LeeHyat - Chessie! No lurking allowed! Ya hear?!
Spite - the mini series are with a different twist???
Wild Woman - AZ
HeatherMac - Each book begins with the heroine getting the skirt--the books end with the bride throwing it and begin with the new heroine catching it. Does that make sense?
Spite - Oh nooooooo, someone got ya Chessie...LOL
Spite - ohhhhhhhhhh I like that heather....
Wild Woman - Do any of you authors ever come to AZ for book signings?
CCaro - Keith Jr. is 13 1/2. He wanted a "pet" so in a moment of madness, agreed to a snake. This thing thinks it is part rattlesnake. My son told me to pet it so I did. I had no clue at all that the snake was THAT nasty until I put my hand into the cage and then it BIT ME!
KGabriel - You'll have to wait and see!
IsabelSharpe - Heather, yes, cool idea!
HeatherMac - Are we telling about the scenes?
Spite - Is that in these ones we are to be chatting about 2nite??? Or another start of books...
Chessie - Sorry, I'm behind on some critiquing, so I was reading a story and the room at the same time, everytime I wanted to talk, what I was reading went away. So I've kept my mouth shut.
CCaro -
Hi "lurking" Chessie. Thanks for the e-mails, hon.
IsabelSharpe - Kristin, oh, no fair!
Spite - Well my gawd woman...you listenin to a 3.5 yo...? ROTFL
Chessie - No problem Caro, hope you found them useful. lol
LeeHyat - that's okay, Chessie.
I was just teasing. Join in when you can.
HeatherMac - Kristin is talking about the new books.
Spite - you write too Chessie?
Oliveria - What is everybody writing next
KGabriel - Yes, Spite. In the books we're talking about tonight, each heroine catches the skirt at the wedding instead of the bouquet.
Spite - I can't wait to get my hands on them! Everyone seems so late, the Oct books are still on the shelves
Chessie - Yeah, I'm working on getting published. I've had some encouraging news. lol
LeeHyat - Heather, are there only three books in this series? Or does it keep continuing?
Sabrina Moses - Will all writers please raise your hands
Sabrina Moses -
Spite - Congratulations for the encouraging news!!!! What do you like to write?
Chessie -
CCaro - It was his birthday, Spite and he begged and pleaded for a snake for so long. Supposedly, the man who owned the Pet Shop said that they are FRIENDLY. Yeah right. Once it gets bigger even my hubby said it is going BYE BYE!!
Spite - Published, or non??? LOL
LeeHyat - good for you Chessie!! Congrats!
IsabelSharpe - Meee! I don't know how to do that raised hand thing, but I'm a writer
Chessie - I write paranormals.
Rosedust2 - Here
LeeHyat -
HeatherMac - There are these three, then we're doing another round of three.
Sabrina Moses -

Oliveria - Not me i read
KGabriel -
LeeHyat - Oh cool, Heather! That's great!
IsabelSharpe - Heather, Kristin and Cara, have you thought about continuing the series in another line?
CCaro -
Hope to get something published soon. I write about
romances.
Shauna - What would y'all say distinguishes Temptation from the Desire line? My guess is that the Temptations are a bit campier. Any opinions.
Wild Woman - Chessie, I love paranormals--what kind?
Rosedust2 -
LeeHyat - Isabel, type // wave without the space inbetween
Cara Summers -
Sandy V - me either i also just read
IsabelSharpe -
CCaro - Absolutely have a weak spot for hungry, handsome vampires.
IsabelSharpe - OH COOL!

Sabrina Moses - I got burped
Spite - paranormals huh? ummmmmm, never tried one...I write Poetry and short stories so far, but have some ideas banging around in my head....that is great then that there will be 6 skirt stories...lol
tami - only a reader..............
Spite - Romance Cafe = GREAT GROUP!!!!
LeeHyat - welcome back, Sabrina!
KGabriel - I've always thought Temptations tended to have more action-oriented plots.
HeatherMac - Isabel, try the // goddess
Chessie - I'm doing a shape-shifter series, then a spoof on a midsummer night's dream, then a dream romance, then an Atlantis story, then I'm continuing the shape-shifters. lol
LeeHyat - thanks Spite.
Are you a member already?
IsabelSharpe -
Oliveria - What are you writtes working on now?
Sabrina Moses - Ohmigod, I'm green!
IsabelSharpe - OH, excellent!
Mad has timed out.
IsabelSharpe - Thanks, Heather <g>
Spite - who is your fave to read tami?
Wild Woman - Chessie, do you have a site I can check out?
HeatherMac - Also, I think Temptations have a greater emphasis on the male story than Desires.
Chessie - After that I have no idea, but I figure that should keep me busy.
Cara Summers - Temptations are longer, for one thing and Birgit Davis Todd once told me that the extra words were for more plot. I also think they may be a little sexier -- ?
IsabelSharpe - So Kristin, you don't see the series expanding into Duets or Blaze?
CCaro - Shauna, my vampirs aren't spooky. Only lonely, handsome and looking for love. Like the rest of the world!
Sabrina Moses - Okay, another shameless plug: http://www.sabrinamoses.com
Spite - I have to agree with you there Heather, although I've only read one Desire, it wasn't nearly as good as the Temptations..
HeatherMac - I like the shapeshifters
Chessie - I'm sorry wild, I don't have a site, I wasn't going to work on one until my first book is a little closer to getting published.
Sabrina Moses - Horoscopes for December will be posted tomorrow
Spite - And they vant to bite your neck...LOL
Chessie - I have to say, I'm completely in love with my shape-shifters.
Spite - ohhhhhhhhh Horoscopes..where??? that shameless plug???
Sabrina Moses - Everyone needs a website, Chessie
tami - I don't have a paticular fav , Sprite, I have TOO MANY favs...........
CCaro - Oh Spite, they can have my neck anytime. LOL
Cara Summers - Spite, so glad you like Temptations!
Wild Woman - That's okay, you know where to go to plug it don't you? We'll buy
Sabrina Moses - Spite, on my website
Rosedust2 - I'm writeing a book about a Green Beret and his life long love.
KGabriel - Hmmm, I'll have to thinnk about that one, Isabel. Maybe I have a Blaze in my future???
Spite - If you were to recommend one what would you say Chessie? LOL @ CCaro...
Spite - I LOVE temptations!!!!!
IsabelSharpe - Can the three of you tell us what other lines/publishers you write for?
CCaro - You know, I use to love reading Madeline Baker's Indian romances. I think that I over-saturated myself with them. Then I moved on to Pirates but couldn't really find any good ones.
Chessie - I know, I have a lot of ideas for my site, but they are all tangled around the shapeshifter series, and I want to wait until they are close to on the market, before I get my book ideas out there too much.
Shauna - If anyone is looking for a fun read for Christmas, track down Heather's The Good, the Bad, and the Cuddly. I've been pulling it out since it came out around Christmas 99 for a good read around the holidays.
HeatherMac - I'd like to stick with Temptations, I think
Spite - Cara, do you write under Cara Summers?
TinaF - Kristen, can I ask you if your books are carefully plotted or if you do any "pantzing"?
IsabelSharpe - Kristin, go for that Blaze! (if I could do the jumping fire thing here I would)
Wild Woman - Rosedust2, sounds interesting
HeatherMac - Thanks, Shauna!
IsabelSharpe - Heather, yes, it seems like Temptations are a great fit for the concept.
Spite - The Blazes are HOT THOUGH....... yummyyyyyyy
LeeHyat - This one is for all three of you, Cara, Kristin and Heather -- How did you come up with the character/personality for your hero? Was it a situation or a particular person who inspired your hero's character?
tami - be shameless Sabrina.........that's what makes us buy our books!!!
Sabrina Moses -
Glad too, tami
HeatherMac - Pantzing, LOL!
KGabriel - Isabel, I write for Duets and am writing a Cooper's Corner continuity book.
Rosedust2 - Thanks Wildwoman
Sabrina Moses - Info on my upcoming erotica collection will be posted soon too.
IsabelSharpe - Kristin, cool! Thanks
Spite - I just finished "Some Kind of Incredible" It was good, but the man needed a kick in the a@@ LOL
Chessie - My favorite light and funny paranormals are the ones by Julie Kenner, and my favorite dark ones are Christine Feehan's, and Susan Krinards. Susan Grant writes my favorite futuristics.
Wild Woman - Rosedust2, are you published, & if so, what?
KGabriel - I started out as a pantzer, then moved to plotting, but I still pantz occasionally. My editor knows she won't get what I put in my synopsis.
Spite - erotica????????? hummmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....
Oliveria - Do you all have websites?
Sabrina Moses - Oh, Kathy???
tami - PLEASE keep us posted on the erotica collection ,Sabrina
Cara Summers - Spite, yes, I write under the name Cara Summers.
TinaF - Thanks! I'm naturally a pantzer but trying to convert to plotting.
CCaro - I have to mention Charlotte Boyett-Compo. She is incredible. Highly recommend her books!!
Wild Woman - I'll definitely have to check out sabrina's site
KGabriel - Yes, we all have websites. But the really cool thing is we have a website for the Single in the City series. It's at www.singleinthecity.org
Spite - I'm reading one of the Christmas Duets now..."A Rosey Little Christmas" by Bonnie Tycker.
Sabrina Moses - That Kathy?!? D'oh I feel stupid
HeatherMac - I'm still stuck on the hero question, but I just watched my son leave with a bunch of his friends (making fun of our icons) and I think I got the personality from the sports guys.
Chessie - I'm half and half. I'm in the process of plotting the third book in the shapeshifter series.
Rosedust2 - Wildwoman. Does news papers count?
KGabriel - Heather says the org stand for orgy. Check out the site, tho, because we have some contests, free books, etc.
tami - CCaro, I still love Madeline Baker, he new one is excellent, it is a time travel
Spite - Thanks, I will have to look for your name, I know I have seen Summers, but that doesn't click, I like to go a first name..lol..sometimes I find that you'll get an author who chooses a pen name and just does it (or seems to) b/c there is a famous author with the same last name..know what I mean?
Wild Woman - It's more than I've done, so yes. Let us know when your book is published.
Cara Summers - My web site is in production right now (being worked on) but I'm on the temptation website - temptationauthors, com
Spite - What is the Title of that Tami?
LeeHyat - Kristin, could I check it out too? <g> The contest I mean?
tami - Chase the Lightening,Sprite
Spite - ahhhhhhhh, I used to be there, should join back up again then...
Sabrina Moses -
I'll never look at .org the same way again
LeeHyat -
at the bit about org standing for orgy!
Chessie - Believe me, when my book is finally published, Everyone in this room is going to know about it. LOL I won't be able to shut up.
KGabriel - Absolutely, Leena! The winner of our Dating Disasters contest will win a Single in the City T-shirt.
CCaro - Tami, Madeline Baker also writes under the name Amanda Ashley. Her Midnight Embrace (Vampire Romance) is due out next month, I think. She writes great
romances. So does Nancy Gideon.
Sabrina Moses - Lee, GMTA
Rosedust2 - Spite. About some kind of incedable. AMEN!!!
LeeHyat - cool! Thanks, Kristin!
tami - I know Caro, I don't care for her AA books only as MB
LeeHyat - Sabrina, I was just typing that same thing. LOL
mahismart - I just signed up for your newsletter Sabrina. Thanks for the web addy
Cara Summers - Lee, I'm thinking about your hero question too. I usually come up with my heroine first -- and then come up with a hero who is the opposite of her. Although - with the second skirt book the hero is a minor character (a PI) from Moonstruck in Manhattan.
Oliveria - What made you choose a career in writing?
Spite - AA...MB...lol..help me out here Tami? LOL
Chessie - Not into vamps tami? Lol
CCaro - Tami, supposedly this newest vampire romance is going to be her best. I plan on reading it as soon as it hits the bookstores around my area.
Sabrina Moses - Have you ladies considered writing a Red Ink book?
Spite - I'm not into vamps...nooooooooo way jose...
Rosedust2 - Mahi! Hi
